HEY EVERYONE. SMS IS HAVING A RACE ON 9-3-06. ITS A SUNDAY MEMORIAL RACE. IM LOOKING FOR 4-8 AMERICAN STOCKS TO GO WITH ME. I KNOW THERE ARE SOME AMERICAN STOCKS THAT HAVE WANTED TO RACE AT SMS. HERE IS YOUR CHANCE. ALL YOU WILL NEED TO DO IS LOCK YOUR REAR END AND GO HAVE SOME FUN. THE RACE IS $300 TO WIN. EVERYONE PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOUR INTERESTED. OR IF ANYOE COULD GET ME SOME PHONE NUMBERS OF SOME OF THE AMERICAN STOCKS THAT WOULD BE GREAT SO I CAN TALK TO THEM ALL AND FIND OUT WHO IS INTERESTED IN GOING TO SMS AND PUTTING ON A GOOD SHOW. THANKS EVERYONE AND LET ME KNOW ASAP

hey kevin i will try to make that race at sms but i have alot of work to do to the car.29 really did a number on my car this weekend my number is 599-5183 call me before you go and hopefully i will have it back together

Remember that we have a vacuum rule and oem carb rule at SMS. Would hate for you guys to have a bad experience. Rules are posted on SMS website.

We'd also hate for the sms guys to have to say they got beat by a 2bbl, 112" wheelbase, 3800 lb, unlocked rearend, monte carlo, caprice or cadillac.

no problem as long as the car came stock with a 4412 two barrel and manifold.

Sounds like you dont want the american stocks to come over and race at sms. From what i understand you dont race that class anymore so i dont see what the problem would be

I think racing at SMS is what all the Bako American Stock drivers should do. I mean what do they have to lose. I would drive over there to see that. It sounds like it would be fun and it sounds like the American Stocks and wanted over there.

All I would have to say is have fun and give them hell!!!

Your right, I'll stay out of it.

Just wouldn't want you guys to go on a fun 2 hour road trip, only to turn around and drive back home. A phone call, or some changes to your cars would make for a good plan of action.

"Racer to racer" advice is all it was. Not a desire to keep you away.

racer to racer do you really think all these american stock drivers would drive that far with out first calling in regards to the rules. not to long ago two bakersfield boys jason and kevin went over there and sms did them wright so why would it change now.

And Yes, I do think some guys would drive all that way without calling. I've seen it happen this year.

yes they did call and they were given the wrong information over the phone but it worked out for them any way i think you dont give give these guys enough credit due to the fact that kevin already stated if anyone wants to go to sms give him a call and they can all drive over together if i know kevin and i do hes already called over to the track to make sure everythings okay for them to race there

I have heard of having to unlock it, but never that you had to lock it, I thought it was an option

americans stock at bako can not have a locked rear end but in sms the factory stock have a locked rear end. so in order to be competive they lock the rear end at sms.

I think most would do just fine with a unlocked rear end, especially the lesser experienced drivers, my wife actually does better unlocked!!!

well your wife may do better with an unlocked rearend but i think that could be cuz of not having a lot of seat time. i enjoy locking my rearend up and racing at sms,chowchilla(with the hobbies) or anywhere else i can go. but i bet if your wife cuold control the car with it locked up then she would rather have it cuz the car is way faster with it locked up. but anyways yes everyone i have called dave swindel. he is willing to wave all car and driver fees for the bako cars to come over and run with them. i am going to be calling him back tonight or tomorrow morning to find out for sure about the difference in rules so yeah i will be getting back to everyone. i hope it all works out for us to all have fun.

yeah. running unlocked can be fun. but locked up is a lot funner.

Just looked at bako's A.S rules, if u got underdrive pullys, better take them off, they not legal in factorys, and tech is lookin 4 em fyi
