For immediate press release - 9/6/06

Last Points Race of the Season, Who Will Finish Where!

OUTLAW MOTOR SPEEDWAY, 8 Miles South of Muskogee, Oklahoma & 11 Miles North of I-40 on HWY 69 - Looking to make is two weeks in a row to race since the middle of August the 2006 points race concludes.

For the Modified division, three time defending Modified points champion Muskogee's Gary Andrews can basically take a night off and enjoy next weeks' last points race. With a 132 (1928-to-1796) point advantage over Muskogee's Mike "Fuzzy" Withrow Andrews can be crowned the four time points champion without even making a lap.

Withrow will finish second to Andrews for the third time in four years and hopes to make a run at his long time pal on the final night. Bixby's Kevin Lacy holds a slim 1496-to-1477 lead over Muskogee's Gary Ray Andrews for third despite two fewer starts (18-to-20). Muskogee's Tate Cole can throw a wrench in Andrews and Lacy's final placement with 1417 points in just 15 starts.

In the Pure Stock points chase, Muskogee's Bob Lewis holds a (1731-to-1670) slim 61 point edge over Muskogee's Andy Simmons heading into the final points race this week. Lewis needs to basically start to Pure Stock A-Feature next week to claim his first points Championship of his career. Oktaha's Gene Whittle isn't out of the chase quite yet in third with 1654 points and move up depending on Lewis and Simmons final positions Saturday night.

Last week's third place finish put Glenpool's Jake "the Snake"  Kelley positioned himself out of reach with an 252 (1772-to-1520) point advantage over Muskogee's David Whittle and picks up his first career points championship. Second place however isn't settled just yet as Muskogee pair of Chuck Bumgarner (1510 points) and David Howell (1488 points) can pull an upset of sorts with strong finishes ahead of Whittle.

Muskogee's Hobby Stock points leader Muskogee's Dale Richardson wasn't leaving anything to chance last week after he picked up his fifth win of the 2006 season and in the process putting himself out of reach of Randy Moses II by a 1838-to-1680 point lead.

Second place can still change if Moses II fails to show, Muskogee's Ray Hutcherson (1605 points) would move up. Randy Moses Sr. sits in fourth place with 1586 points ahead of Ft. Gibson's Lynn Combs at 1571 points.
