someone gave him a good look at the front straight wall.  By the time he was done leening on him he was broke. Good way to treat a guest.

Congrat to Brady on the win; alot of effort is paying off! Lee earned the championship with a good plan they followed thru.

Other than some words, there was nothing more to the Capps deal in the pits. (And Capps was'nt part of the that.) Everyone hoped for a full race, with the finish sorting itself out. Not happy about the way it read in the Californian, thats how it will be remembered. Ron Capps and his family were great to be with, and all things concidered Ron is a talented driver.

I want to thank Chris Kearns for last nite. There was alot of effort in making this happen. Great plan, great results! I also meet some new friends; Dave and Landy came over from the Kearns team to help. We all know how hard it is to find a good crew, these guys are the best, the setup was good and I had a great time with them. Thanks guys.

How about Ron Capps running down IMCA champ Scott Pounds and getting beside him for a couple laps!!!!  Ron said he was testing the bite and was just starting to push it!

It was a pretty cool night. Thanks again Dave. I disagree on the the newspaper article though. I think Mike G. described it perfectly. If a guy drives great he should get praise in the paper. If a guy drives like an idiot, that should be in the paper also.

ya my motor ran good after we got it all done up right.  Thanks Scott Pounds for hooking us up with a rocker stud.  We owe you one.

Kearns, If you behave like an idiot should it be published in the newspaper? You threatened to break all of Van Scoy's fingers while you had a crew to back you up. Are you proud of that? Was that smart? Did your behavoir help to promote racing at the
Bakersfield Speedway??

how did Van Scoys fingers get in the mix?

Mike .... a reaction of all talk, tough hand to draw to after all the work. I let it go, do the same.

Reflecting back from the weekend Troy Morris, Unrealvinyl was not thanked for several last minute efforts. Late Thursday Troy was asked to make up three different orders of decals for my car, and it was a can do attitude that I thank Troy for . The sizes and artwork were right and delivery was increditable.
Thanks Troy , you made the weekend better!

Pitter, I actually stood behind Vanscoys car (out of his pits) all by myself. I was very pissed off about what he did, but even more pissed that he had the balls to actually be mad himself and then flip me  off (Billy, that is how his fingers got involved, so I offered to break it off for him) for asking what he was thinking. What the hell makes you think, I need my crew to back me up for him. He is not exactly Jimmy Irwin or Big Bob. He decided not to come out of his trailer until his crew got there. All I told him was the faster he runs at me, the more it's going to hurt.

I don't think I did anything to damage Saturday Night short track racing. I got Ron Capps to come run a STREET STOCK at Bakersfield. I got Dave Bauer to let him drive his car. Which was pretty awesome of Dave. I don't think that hurt promoting racing. What hurts racing is when you have an IDIOT drive him into the wall, ON PURPOSE, and end his night.

Boy is it nice to not be politically correct.

Chris Kearns

PS. Hey pitter, use your real name.

I was actually surprised how good Capps was running in the main.  He didnt seem to be overdriving it or be off the pace.  The SS are tough at Bak and for him to jump in one and hang with everone was pretty good.  I think some locals look at "newbies" and feel like they should be blowing their doors off.  When they don't it gets fustrating and nuts happens that shouldn't.  Taking the cars home on the wrecker sucks for everyone especially the fans who came to watch a celeb race.

Even though I have seen him race at Eldora, I was suprised at how smooth he was in the main. He was running equal lap times to the leaders several laps.

Concidering the possibilities of the 380 motor and rear suspension, we went the safe way on the setup. Even after the incident,Rons smile and compliments were priceless!
To be truthful this was the most concerned I have ever been about the mechanical fitness of the car!

Landy and Dave come over to the shop before  the race to preview the car. I'm sure you could imagine my face when Landy found the LF motor mount bolt missing! Sh!t.
