anybody have any advice on the suspension setup we are allowed to run racing shocks and springs and only one size tire all the way around and 30 psi all the way around anybody got any input on maybe spring ratings what brand what kind of shocks maybe any help would be great

OK, first we need to know a few baseline items...is there a weight rule? and how much is your target weight? and the tire rule??? radial street tire or spec race tire???
we can determine a ballpark spring/shock setup with weight #s, but it makes a big difference in the final package if you are on radials or not...
btw the 30 psi rule is ok if its a minimum #...for radials! bias ply tires really do not like anywhere near 30 psi..
get back to us with more info and we will work on specific #s.

Count the ring gear teeth and the pinion gear
teeth..then divide...that will tell you what gear you have in the car

hi doug.
the best way IS to pull and count teeth..but if you are lazy.... you can mark the tire and mark the yoke...turn the wheel 10 times exactly and the yoke will turn a corresponding # of turns ie;58 and 1/3 turns= 583 etc. this only works with a spool...a differential of any type will give false #s using this method..

RIGHT FRONT-SPRING-1100 SHOCK-AFCO
LEFT FRONT-SPRING-1000 SHOCK-PRO
RIGHT REAR-SPRING-STOCK(I THINK 133)SOCK-PRO
LEFT REAR-SPRING-175 SHOCK-AFCO

FUEL CELL AS FAR BACK AS U CAN GET AND ALL THE WAY TO THE LEFT SIDE.

lol yes this would be the fast caddy here. thats the set up i run in the caddy. car weighs about 3700lbs.

how about the shock part #s on the caddy? and are they stock mounting? on american stock they should be!
specific questions about #'s so we can find out what really makes it a "fast" caddy.. LOL LOL.. but, seriously do you run 50/50 or split valve? and what rate? and where?
3700 lbs is just about the heaviest am. stock i have heard of..your spring #s look light enough to be "fast", thats why i would like shock info. also what wheel offsets you run. thanks.

Left front and right rear shocks are 50/50. Right front is afco easy up and left rear is afco tie-down. Set-up is pretty much the same as our hobbys. On a coil car I would try to get the rear spring split as high as possible. We run stock (120?)RR and 300LR on the pink 00. With the open diff. you want to do everything you can to keep the left rear planted. Never raced unlocked myself but that's my theory and seems to work so far.

on the same train of thought....i found a split valve works best either on the r/f or l/r but not both..seemed to get too wierd with both.. i prefer the easy up on the r/f for leaf spring cars and the tie down l/r for coil cars... also with open diff we use the front sway bar to keep the left rear planted..( on the left front end link, just use the top and bottom bushings and washers and leave the spacer and middle bushings off.)
