Title: Engine Height
Post by speeddoggie on 12/20/06 at 7:39pm

Hey Dave, I have an older tube type late model chassis and I am replacing the motor plate tabs. I've noticed on some other chassis you can move the engine up as well as left to right. Would there be any advantage in including this adjustment?

Thanks
   Mitch

hey speedoggie, how are you?
motor height is mostly related to :1,  center of gravity ( for side bite) and :2, left to right is for % weights..
that being said... because it is an older car with several components from different sources ,,i would fully dress your  motor..headers, oil pan, dist, carb, air cleaner, dist. etc.. and make the mounts to position the motor so the bottom of the pan is flush with the bottom of the front crossmember. and centered between the frame rails..
if you need any help with fab, pm me and iwill come visit you..
dave
