I've seen it, i've heard about it and I will get the answer.. 4m.net will give me an answer. My harris had the pinto spindles and the weight advantage alone makes it a necessity. Thanks for the Antioch picture. It amazes me how they don't put any on the website.

ok im back.sip.ah.... the lowers r 68-72 rear steer arms. the lower ball joints r moog# k6117 you need to ream the lower spindle so 1 11/16 of threads stick out of the spindle. to set the roll center close. the top ball joint screw in moog#k772 will fit the stock hole in the spindle. upper arms just get some adjustable ones so u can change the tubes to the correct length to set caster camber. dont forget u will have to get longer tie rod tubes to. u got to drill the spindle 5/8 for the tie rod to.

Were the lower control arms hard to find? And also, is it hard to spare part up for a rough night at the races, to get through the night?  Chad

u can find them at junk yards. i got 1 at luise? on union for 65. i got most of mine from bob pierce the only sucky part is if u buy  is buying 4 of them 2 for the car 2 for spare as far as the a arms just put a set on the car take them off then put your spare set on the car then u got a set ready to go do the same with the spindles... when i got my new car done this year i stripped ever susp. piece off the car after setting toe caster camber trail and replaced it so if i have a problem at the track i got it to bolt back on no ? if it will fit and it

jp80... the moog#k6136 is a bolt in upper and is 1'' longer so it might help if u dont want to move your upper mounts this is a pic of my pierce with nova and pinto stuff

That looks pretty good, I thought you were running the three piece uppers, and that seemed like alot to carry for spares, not to mention the cost. Glad to see you're back racing.  Chad

Yep i'm starting this one up again... I used the 1" taller ball joint on the upper, however I have noticed, especially at las Vegas that it doesn't seem to be rollong over in the front. So I need some advice on measuring for my roll center? Any thoughts?

dont over think it, just soften the front springs up. whats the angles of ur upper a-arm's with the lowers level?

i'll check it soon. i have measured the angle before but didn't write it down.... that's real smart..... anyway i like your thoughts and will check them this weekend,
Thx

Ok so i set the car at 6 3?4 inches and then measured angle. Left front 11-12% right front 8-9%. i must admit my ride height was less than that.

doesn't sound to good to me, you ussually need more angle in your uppers to have a decent roll center . while I agree with Brad in the don't overthink it, it sounds as if you are working from scratch and not from a pro built chassis. I would recommend that you get a Steve Smith book on Modifieds, it is old school in a lot of ways but also has a lot of good basic info(like mapping roll center) that it seems you maybe needing. It never hurts to try and understand your racecar better, there are many factors as to why the car may not be rolling over the way you want(even the j-bar can be a factor), and roll centers are ever changing while in motion which makes it difficult to say a certain location is right. good luck

i am planning on going to the racewise 3 day class in denver in february so that should shed some light on the issue. before i set the chassis at 6 3/4" ride height my angles were more like 14 and 15 but then again the lowers weren't level... kind of touchy verifying if they are level... so I raised the car to get the ride height.

evolution chassis? Metric? I was going to the one that Kelly boen was going to be at. No driving just alot of set up, shocks. ect.. i believe Kellen went to it a few years ago.

hey jp i have a 06/09 AWESOME chassis out of pahrump,nv its a metric clip and i use 67 nova lowers w/pinto spindles and 3 piece uppers . i use the long lower balljoint and tall upper balljoint , sorry no part#s for the bj`s . as for set up we try to line up the lower pivot bolt with a " visualized " center of the lower bj as a "starting point for ride height @6" . springs for vegas were 650 both sides . but for the short track we run on a weekly schedule i run 800l 900r w the same ride heights . angles on the uppers are 15L and 14R , dont no if that sounds right to some of the other guys but my right uper arm is SHORT , i have 6 degrees of camber gain from ride height to bump ( keeps the tire flat to the track at all times) as for rolling over on the right front , with the amount of traction i have she stays firmly planted, bottomed, etc . as for the j bar i only run 6" of split at ride height . my car is double 4 bar , L bars 5 and 19 degrees r bars 5 -21 degrees to start with  and 50# of bite . all i do inbetween heats and b or main is drop the right bars , maybe a lil stagger or reverse stagger . some people seen my car @VV at the begining of the year , said it looks tight , it was but for me id rather push than spin . any ways this may help u , maybe not , hell maybe i got it all wrong , who nos , maybe ill get some advice . thanks eric . ;)

xmodracer, thanks for the info.. i got a few other tips and then decided to string out the front end to see where my roll center really was. I lowered my ride height to 6 on the left and 53/4 on the right. Removed the upper BJ that was 1" over on the left and low and behold... the roll center was exactly where the book says... 4" to the right and about 3 1/2" off the floor... I'm stoked.. now all I have to do is install my 3 piece upper a arms and I'll be ready in the front end... got some parts from the stockton swap meet and a bsb brake floater so now I can focus on the rear end.
