I lost a bet when I was in MO, by a guy who said he could throw a tire on to a wheel. He set the wheel on the ground, and then he raised the tire over his head, and then threw it onto the wheel and aired it up. and then said next Total time from seperate tire and wheel to airing it up about 5 seconds. His name is John Bohn |

Me too, But stay away from the wd 40 it eats the rubber in the tires. Use dish soap and water. |
Title: Re: tire machine? Post by RACEGLASS on 08/18/09 at 4:42pm Actually the WD40 makes it easier to mount the tire and when it seals the bead and sits for a little while, it makes the rubber sticky and it will help make the tire stick to the rim. |
Title: Re: tire machine? Post by Wally_Stewart on 08/23/09 at 7:06pm $5 and you can have it done at the track, just have to carry tire across pits. Have them do a lot for the cost of a tire machine. Thats dismount & mount your new one. Beadlocks $10. Wally |

Title: Re: tire machine? Post by Matt_8 on 09/17/09 at 10:27pm Last weekend(Eldora; World 100) I was very lucky to spend the week with Billy Moyer and team. Steve, who is his crew chief and does all the tires. He can mount, groove, sype(sp), and grind a tire in 6 minutes(give him an extra minute if it's a beadlock ;) ) No need for a machine.. |
Title: Re: tire machine? Post by Ian on 09/22/09 at 5:44pm It takes me 6 minutes to take to tire off!!! :o ok... maybe not that long.... but JEEZ!!! :o |
Title: Re: tire machine? Post by Wally_Stewart on 09/27/09 at 10:03am Yeh but you guys are talking about LM tires now that are like an inner tube before you put air in them not a real tire. |
