it was a ok night but what happined to the late model's , last week 33 car's this week 16 car's , johnson had it won till he blew the right front tire probly caused by the big hole's or big rut's in turn 1 , but all in all good hard racing , congradulation's to steve drake 2 in a row now

Big holes ??? Wow you need to lay off the beer !!!! Didnt have big holes in the track at all ... The right front fender cut the tire

humm did'nt have big hole's or rut's humm soo i guess the car came of the ground because of the fender to huh hummm from were i was sitting his car would come off the ground about a foot in the air each time he went threw turn's 1 & 2

There was a hole where they set the car it was not big at all .

still a hole that's the worse bako track i've ever seen there , but all in all least the late model's put on the best show sat night

It was a local show. I believe 200 to start 1500 to win. When the WC LMs race there I believe u will see high 20s. I bet Scott is okay with 17 cars on a local show. As for the track it didnt look that bad at all. Johnson had them covered, bad luck for the Fringer team. Chet

If that was the "worst Bako track i've ever seen there" then that must have been your first trip there. Shut up, finish your truck, and go race it Mr. negativity! Scott, thanks for a good night of racing, the track was very racey!

ya nice mikey , well at least i'm going to the race's & or driving some kinda race car , how would you no if it was racey i don't recall seeing you there , i did how ever see team 47 there , i did'nt think that track was that good last night , every time johnson hit then hole's or rut's his car would jump off the ground about a foot reminded me of that night sms

Purse structure different for local show which doesn't bring as many traveling teams, I think there are only 4 or 5 local teams based in Bakersfield so I don't think teams are willing to travel.

He used the smooth part of the track, the High Side 8-)

(track was pretty bad low in turn 1) JMO ;) but I've seen worse

I wasn't there so I did not see the track.....

Remember it's a dirt track!

Well that's the choice a racer makes as the track develops....
What line to run.
Go around the rough areas and risk opening the door for someone to get under you, or run through the rough areas. which some times is the fastest route.

for inquiring minds, Fast time of the night was Dino Napier with a 13.5.

Heat winners were Dino Napier, Nick Bartels, and Andy Obertello.

Dash was won by Andy Obertello followed closely by Drake.

the track wasnt bad @ all. sorry stocker..but the track last night doesnt even make the top 10 of how bad bakersfield has been. we practiced the track today and there was 2 MAYBE 3 deep ruts in turn 1..and they were nowhere near as bad as the opening night when the modifieds ran. kinda of a bummer so see a 17 car turnout for the LM. what happened to the glory days when there was a consistent turnout of drivers from all over cali? cant complain though because wether you get 10 or 30 late models..youre still guaranteed to see 800 ponys rocket around the track. way to go 11x. make it 3 straight?

or ask Steve Drake what kinda of track he likes? He likes it rough and as he says he powers over it then you don't feel the bump.

Those ruts were not that bad on Saturday, alot better then opening night, but I thought the track looked good overall and it was a good LM race and overall LM show!! Good to see Obertello win the dash and Dino win a heat, the heat races were very good also!! Johnson did have it won but thats why you run hard til the checkers comes flying!! Drake has things figured out I guess lol!!
