Title: 50 lap IMCA race at Ocean Speedway July 23rd Post by Gasit on 07/01/10 at 3:32pm Mike Cecil 100 July 23, 2010 $3000+ A-Main Purse Dash for Cash $ 1,000 Bonus Money for A-Main We will start 22 cars for the Mike Cecil 100 IMCA A-Main Event (if less than 22 cars check in, we will start all cars in the A-Main event). More than 22 cars we will have a B-Main event to determine additional starting spots. Heat Races ~ All drivers will need to do pill draw to check-in, then will be lined up per normal IMCA rules/point average. We will transfer the top finishers in each heat race to the A-Main event based on number of heat races per IMCA rules. The remaining non transfers will race the B-Main(s) (multiple if needed) for final transfer spots. Dash for Cash ~ The top 3 finishers from the A-Main events July 2 and July 9, 2010 will be in the Dash for Cash the night of the Cecil Race. Dash format will be three (3) segments. The first segment will be six cars (6) laps; we will eliminate last place finishers (to have 4 cars left). Second segment will be four (4) laps; we will eliminate last place finishers. Final segment will be a two cars for a (2) lap shoot out for $$CASH$$, watch the website for amount updates, each week we will be adding to the fund. B – Main ~ We will take Top 10 or 12 finishers to A-Main from the B-Main, and they will start straight up according to how the finished the B-Main, behind the heat race qualifiers. If no B-Main, we will take the heat finishers that did not make A- Main and determine final starting spots according to IMCA rules/point average. Race Laps ~ The Mike Cecil 100 will consist of a total of Fifty (50) green flag laps. There will be two (2) twenty-five (25) lap segments. At the conclusion of the first segment the cars will be stopped on the front straight in front of the grandstands. There will be a 7 minute intermission in which crews can put fuel in cars and make adjustments. At the 5 minute mark the drivers & teams will be signaled to resume race and crew members must leave the track. Cars will be lined up to resume the race in the order in which they finished the first segment. With 5 to go, if a caution comes out, we will move the lapped cars to the rear of the field for the restart. A-Main payout ~ $1,000 to Winner, $500 for Second and $350 for Third, paying at least $50 to start the A-Main. At the end of the first 25 lap segment, 1st and 2nd place finishers will have the option to go to the rear and either one wins they will get a $1,000 bonus. Participating teams ~ Please work with us to make this a great event. We know everyone has their own opinion of how things should be done. Unfortunately we can never make everyone happy. So please keep that in mind. Minor adjustment may be made to this as deemed necessary by the track. ___ |

Title: Re: 50 lap IMCA race at Ocean Speedway July 23rd Post by Gasit on 07/01/10 at 4:18pm This race used to be 100 laps, (Twin 50's) but it was too hard on the cars. The track never changed the name to the Mike Cecil 50 |

It's a 1/4 mile track If you've never raced at Ocean, ask someone who has raced there this year, they'll tell you it's awesome, The track is great and the facility is first class. |
