Could it be that, per a racer I spoke with at Victorville last year, it's 'cuz they don't want to race for an $800 purse? Don't blame 'em for that. Too bad, 'cuz half-mile tracks are in short
supply and these cars need to be able to make some speed
on a big track.

i did see that the late models were still on the schedule for sept. 25 with the ascs sprint cars

Saw the USAC/CRA open-wheel show a couple of weeks ago, and sat where I traditionally do: near the end of the front straight. You know, where there's a special section with the image of a LATE-MODEL and verbiage that states, "Laney's Luscious Lovelies".
Well, since Carla won't be back unless and until The PAS books her class of cars again, isn't this sign a little out-dated and mis-leading? :P
