Title: Black flags at Antioch
Post by Terra on 08/15/10 at 8:40am

Is anyone else confused by the reasons for the black flag calls last night?  I would have found helpful if John could have announced the offical reasons in each instance. The fans in my section of the stands were confused and very angry about the calls.

All the drivers were told at the drivers meeting if you are the cause of a yellow flag you will be black flagged. That was the call made by the track for last nights race.

One and you're done is a good idea to get some of the drivers to start driving and stop bashing their way to the front. Sure it's not often the most popular way to do it, but it is true that outsiders are not real thrilled about racing is the typical crashfest that always takes place at antioch. As is often said, they race a million times cleaner back east and arizona and new mexico... we need to start doing the same here. It's alot easier on everybody's wallet.

finishing out back is a lot easier to take when you don't do a couple hundred dollars worth of damage in a wreck that is caused by a guy that tries to win from the back row in one lap, no matter what lap it maybe.
one of the dumbest statements ever said is i run hard every lap for every position. nobody really comes to the track to wreck and no one comes to finish last.
however there is no shame in starting 16th or 18th and only getting to 10th in a nonstop race. the competion level is so much closer these days with the technology that very few people can come from middle to back and win these days, yet so many drive like they have the car and ability. you have to get one spot at a time and give people the respect you would like given to you. after all nobody likes being torn up in a senseless wreck. JMO ;) ;) ;)

well allot of the big races we go to in the midwest they have a no flat rule, you get a flat your out.. they say 90% of flat tires are from hitting each other !!!! so all heats there a no flat rule and in the main you get one flat, but it also counts as one yellow to you in a 2 yellow rule.....

it's to bad rules like that have to be implamented to get driver's to be more respectful of others on the track. :)

I liked the rule myself but in a few cases last sat people might have got screwed by putting it into the officals hands and to where the call could have went 2 different wasy but it makes the drivers think about am I going to make the pass or will I hit the other car

Clean it up!!  May hurt a few peoples feeling along the way but SO WHAT!!  I support the clean up.  Learn how to flippen drive clean or stay home.  There is plenty of room on the track, if you can't pass them clean than your not ready to pass.  I'm all for hard racing and racing incidents happen but the stupidity needs to go.  Just my opinion.

Its' about time. John has been telling these guys for years to clean it up. Now with the reputation that Antioch has deservedly earned I believe he has seen the hand writing on the wall. The really bad part about most of the rough driving is that with the exception of a VERY SMALL handful of racers, they all do this for a hobby. So I guess most of them like fixing cars. One and Done, good job John!

Thanks everyone for asking but I am doing good I was a little sore but ok I really like the rule it did take out like half of the field but that is what needs to be done to show they are going to stick with it and all of the cars that I seen in the pits after the race except mine was still straight or just a little damage and im sure the people that were black flaged will take a little more caution next time so it will not happen again I hope the rule stays like it is atleast untill we clean it up and prove that we can race clean
