Title: Re: three speed transmission Post by woodracing35 on 03/27/11 at 11:21pm i bought a 4 speed saginaw and it has no lines and the guy i bought it from said that the first gear is 3.11...but by the chart on here its showing my tranny is a 2line 4 speed saginaw...the lines go across the splines right...or am i looking in the wrong place for the lines |
Title: Re: three speed transmission Post by over4t on 03/28/11 at 9:13am Easy to check. Do it the same way you check a rear gear, rotate wheel one turn and count driveshaft rotations, and that's it. Do the same way with tranny, put it in whatever gear you want to check, rotate shafts, that's your gear. Not sure on automatics but would think it works. On rear ends you will get a true final gearing this way as tire diameter plays into it. |
Title: Re: three speed transmission Post by sj_valley_dave on 03/28/11 at 9:38am You are looking in the right place...The lines run perpendicular to the input shaft splines... |
