Title: Ford 9" axles Post by fdavis661 on 03/30/11 at 4:00pm Have a mod and new to the game lol I just bought a gear (full spool) and my axles dont fit right the one on the passenger side goes in too far and the one on the driver side does not go in all the way (it sticks out about a half inch). Do I need different size axles or am I doing it wrong? |

Title: Re: Ford 9" axles Post by fdavis661 on 03/30/11 at 8:23pm I have the axles on the proper sides. The right one goes in about an inch and a half deep and the left one sticks out about a half an inch. I guess I need to find out what brand of housing I have |

Title: Re: Ford 9" axles Post by TIM_BEWLEY on 03/30/11 at 10:36pm not sure why the one axle won't go in all the way but it is possible that those axles are the lenght for a 3rd member with a mini spool. you should beable to put a bolt in the end of the axles to take up the space where the crosspin was. i have seen that done many times to keep the axle in the drive plate. i would try the axles in the oppisite sides and see what happens. |
