Started 2nd in a heat a few weeks ago on an unusually sloppy Chico and never went to 7th faster in my life. Switched to Dirt Bozz for the main( they're still legal up here) made a slight wedge change and went from 15th to 5th in the main. Track was still wet but it felt like a whole different car. Haven't got any G60s but the tire sure made the difference for us. Found that at a couple of different tracks last year but I'm still a fan of the lower $ tires. |

You wanted a cheaper, longer lasting tire, and you got it. Did you think it would be a win-win deal all around. Most things in life are a trade-out, and this is no exception. The G-60/500 tire is a closed pattern tire with no side-bite, and will work well on the dry tracks, but will not get "in" to the wet tracks. Think about it, when the SS went to the G-60/500 is right about the time you started disliking wet tracks. The SS should be aloud to grove their tires so when ya race on wetter tracks, the tire can get "into" the track a little bit better, thus better racing...............JMO |
Title: Re: Anyone else have a car that's good on dry tracks but garbage on greasy Post by imracin68j on 07/24/11 at 9:47am It's more hard packed wet tracks. Last night the track was dry and my car was fantastic. Before our race they put 3 loads of water on it. It turned it into a hard pack wet slick track. Kind of like some of the dry tracks at SMS last year. It amazing the stark difference my car is between the two. |
Title: Re: Anyone else have a car that's good on dry tracks but garbage on greasy Post by OLD SCHOOL#6 on 07/24/11 at 10:00am A track like what you have described would need a tire with some side-bite, and the G-60 doesn't have it. Part of that trade-out I spoke of. |
Title: Re: Anyone else have a car that's good on dry tracks but garbage on greasy Post by imracin68j on 07/24/11 at 10:07am I would buy that if the cars in front of me were having the same problem. I do think the G60 might have an advantage because it's wider though, |
