Well be prepared to have MUFFLER THAT MEETS 90 DB AT 100 FT we showed up got ready to hot lapped fired the cars and instantly got introduced to the ocean officals. I went out for hot laps made 4 or 5 laps i got blacked flagged before fandrey even could hit the track. After some talking with the officals we were told we get 2 laps each on the track at seperate times to check DB levels. I went out first, thought i was in the green good to race but i came up loudest on the DB reading. DQed for the night. Fandrey on the other hand happen to get offered some mufflers to put on his car to used so we jerry rigged them on there and got him good to race. He missed the heat started in the rear of the pack of the main fought a garbage handling car all night come to find out weld broke on bridcage and twisted, which gave the car opposite rear steer. Which tend tto be scary when all it does it turn you right towards the wall. Well all and all long night with piss poor handling and back to front driving and still took 2nd place way to go fandrey. I would really like to thank john prentice for running one heck of a race track and doing all he could to try to get both of our cars out on the track but rules are rules, MAKE SURE YOU NOISE LEVEL IS 90 DB OR YOU CAN NOT RACE OCEAN SPEEDWAY AND SOON COMING TO CHOWHILLA SPEEDWAY AS WELL

Sorry you didn't get to run your car in the main, but for the past few years Ocean Watsonville has been the most strict on noise control due to the lawsuit. I hope you get the proper mufflers and imca approved headers so you can race.

Yeah man I know it sucks but thanks but at least we got 1 car out there and put on a show not need to find mufflers know of any that are inexpensive beside using the flowmasters thay will meet requirements??? I wasnt far off the said i read a 97 ish DB

Question Pickle, did you know the sound DB numbers you needed to be at? We had troubles in 2006 with our Super Stock at Bako...We were 98-99 db...single 4" in and out deal...called Extreme Muffler in Ventura...They fabricate the mufflers there...Bought what they recommended and when we went back to Bako, we didn't even register on Scott's meter!!
lol No difference in performance whatsoever..

Nope i didnt know what db i needed to be or what db my car was aat i took it to chow and hanford andhad no issues so seen no issues with going up there.i dont habe a big motkr in my car so.figured it woupdntbe too loudbut i.guess the 3 1/2 inch strighht pipe out the back is too loud. Do you remeberhoww.much you paid for mufflers?

Gotta read the rules before you leave the house :)

EXHAUST
Round tube headers only. All primary header tubes must enter directly into one collector at same point at end of header. Flowmaster Muffler part # 53545-10, is highly recommended. All exhaust must go through mufflers, two per car, one per header. No merge collectors. No exhaust sensors. MUST BE 90 d.b.a @ 100 ft (Schoenfeld mufflers, stamped IMCA609) will NOT meet sound level in most cases). If your car comes up loud, and you do not have the Flowmaster Muffler, you will be required to do so. Also, if it is found that you have tampered with the Flowmaster, you will be subject to a 1 race suspension and a $250 fine.

Ha ha ya i know was reading chow rules since they say is legal it all good no worries we know what we have to do next time lol

Don't remember Chow checking DB in the last 3 seasons, is this going to be a new thing with the new Ocean Chow? Don't think the crabby neighbor next to Ocean can hear over the hill LOL!
