two seperate times we have had trans lock in two gears while leting off intering turns ,when i get it back to the neuteral position its still in a gear nothing looks messed up inside ,any info would be great help

We had one were the shaft seized to first gear. Something with a bushing going out.

WHAT USUALLY HAPPENS IS THE SLIP YOKE GOES IN TO FAR BOTTOMING ON THE SPLINES FORCING THE OUTPUT SHAFT INTO THE INPUT SHAFT AND OVER TIME THEY "GALL" OR SIEZE TOGETHER ...................YUR DONE , THRO IT IN THE TRASH . I SELLEM W THE SHAFTS MACHINED TO EXCEPT 8" SLIP YOKES 250$ , HAD MY SAME TRANS IN 2 DIFF CARS OVER THE LAST 3-4 YEARS ONLY THING I BROKE WAS INPUT SHAFT @SPLINES , THEY DONT LIKE TO "HOP" IN A MOD . ;)

you might check the side cover and see if the spring detent is still there and the steel arm is not missing the end part of the lever holding the shifter arm in and out of gear.

Check your shifter linkage and make sure that it isn't rubbing on the sheet metal of the interior or somewhere else. It could be that the chassis and body are moving and flexing around enough when the car goes into the corners that if a shifter arm, rod or lever is rubbing it can shift it into two gears at once. It's sort of hard to explain but hopefully you get my drift.

I agree :) Change the springs.

yea, is your shifter mounted to the floor of the car or on the trans? check your trans mount and make sure it is good. things move alot on theses cars.

shifter is mounted to cockpit 4speed with only linkage to 3&4 and reverse . 1&2 are not hooked up just in neuteral position ,,,

hey steve we was talking about this yesterday maybe with 1st and 2nd not hooked to anything maybe take some washer that fit over where u would put the shifter linkage and lock it down with a bolt so it doesnt move the shift lever at all. you wouldnt think it would move but its better safe then sorry

yeah fab a bracket , i just dont see how it can get in two gears at 6500 rpms and not explode , throw another bullit in let it fly lol,,,

ya idk either u would think atleast get some chatter of gears or something, not good for driveline and rearends. hey what u get out of this last tranny about 4 races? maybe should change it every 4 races lol :D :D :D

in the cover where the shifter lever goes thru for gears 1/2,, run a allen head bolt backwards so the detent thinks it's the lever arm.
