Title: FRONT END PARTS /GEOMETRY /ETC Post by XMODRACER on 01/05/13 at 9:44pm in working with front suspensions and trying to raise roll centers and have more camber gain/ etc . we always chng the upper balljoints to the taller ones , my question is why hasnt anyone gone to the chevelle/camero/impala spindle , they are aN inch taller than the pinto/metric , steering arm is 1/2 shortet than metric ,1" longer than the pinto . i will be running a set in the future to get my own experiance with them , was wondering if anyone else has had any/much experiance with them , thanks in advance for any info. ;) |

Title: Re: FRONT END PARTS /GEOMETRY /ETC Post by Ryan D. on 01/06/13 at 10:05am This on a Metric car???? I ran Camaro spindles on a metric car years ago with the " Fexiflyer kit" |
Title: Re: FRONT END PARTS /GEOMETRY /ETC Post by XMODRACER on 01/07/13 at 9:55pm yes metric , jet makes the caliper adapter and i think my metric rotor will fit the camero snout .................. gonna have a set on for vegas , we`ll see what happens ;) |
Title: Re: FRONT END PARTS /GEOMETRY /ETC Post by ninjaforce2 on 01/08/13 at 11:46am you can run camaro spindles on a metric car?? what lowers? novas or stock? thanks |
Title: Re: FRONT END PARTS /GEOMETRY /ETC Post by Ryan D. on 01/08/13 at 12:46pm Fexi-flyer kit was the Novas on backwards I believe. Looking back on it. I may have been just Camaro spindles on the stock arms cause the uppers were stock. |
Title: Re: FRONT END PARTS /GEOMETRY /ETC Post by ninjaforce2 on 01/08/13 at 5:34pm ok thanks, I have an old flexi flyer catalog somewhere, ill have to check it out. |
Title: Re: FRONT END PARTS /GEOMETRY /ETC Post by redbear on 01/08/13 at 7:02pm My buddy used to run Camero spindles on his metric asphalt hobby stock, and he used the metric lowers. The used to be the trick for the asphalt guys that had to run stock componets everywhere. |
Title: Re: FRONT END PARTS /GEOMETRY /ETC Post by XMODRACER on 01/08/13 at 9:53pm ok more specs , metric w novas , might try metric metric to keep wheelbase @108 . ok now im goofed up i have rounded up many spindles , camero i believe , but some have 11" rotor and some 12" rotors . i dont no how to read the numbers on them , anyone? did they chg the spindle/rotor @1977 on the camero or do i have somthing else that looks similar? thanks again. ;D |
Title: Re: FRONT END PARTS /GEOMETRY /ETC Post by XMODRACER on 01/08/13 at 10:06pm god love google , ok 71-78 ARE different from the 79 and later , 77-79 cadi spindels take the 12 " rotor also , 71-78 take the 11 " but the cadi spindles and rotors are 5x5 which is what i want so let the search begin ;) |
Title: Re: FRONT END PARTS /GEOMETRY /ETC Post by Missle Motorsports on 01/09/13 at 12:19am Those "CADI" Spindles have the Large 2 cast on the Back Side. Think the came on the Impalas & Caprices also |
Title: Re: FRONT END PARTS /GEOMETRY /ETC Post by hoosierdaddy on 01/19/13 at 9:09am wew always ran the cadi spindles on our camaros, but it was more for the 5x5 bolt pattern then it was for any kind of geometry. |
Title: Re: FRONT END PARTS /GEOMETRY /ETC Post by TIM_BEWLEY on 01/20/13 at 2:03pm You can always use taller lower and upper ball joints to help with roll centers |
