Title: Rear steer nova
Post by Wagner 84 on 06/23/13 at 5:20pm

Ok guys a new guy here just wondering about your thoughts on rear steer nova hobby stock setup. I know a front steer setup is best but this is what I got to run so its going to have to work. Any help is appreciated thanks guys!!

I ran a '71 nova back in the day.  I used the same set up in it as I did in my '75 nova I have now. 900 lf spring, 1000rf spring, ~175 leafs,  as much left and rear wt as you could get (which wasn't much in my case) and around 49% cross.

The problem I had with my old nova was not handling but durability.  the ball joints and steering linkage was just more fragile on that old car.  It seemed like I was replacing a ball joint or die rod every couple of races.

Thanks for the your input CD. The car has a 900lf and a 1100rf with 225lr and a 200rr, so am I even in the ballpark for a bako setup??
Thanks again guys!!

I think you are in the ball park.  I just ran bako a week ago for the first time in like 4 years and wasn't very competitve so may be I am not the one to take advice from. lol

You can probably get better info from some of the locals.
