Title: New 2014 Sound Requirements at Ocean Speedway Post by seans19 on 02/06/14 at 4:57am The db level at Watsonville's Ocean Speedway is now down to 90db @ 114 feet which translates to ~92db @ 100 feet. This is the new rule for ALL divisions racing there. This is a compromise to get CAFA to drop the lawsuit and get the attorneys out of John's hair. Although most cars were already in the mid - high 80s, please be aware when race season starts up in April. :) |

Title: Re: New 2014 Sound Requirements at Ocean Speedway Post by harley83 on 02/06/14 at 8:01am Ocean speedway should have released this way before imca jumped the gun. It would have been a lot less drama going around but hey someone's gotta jump start the race season fever right haha |

Title: Re: New 2014 Sound Requirements at Ocean Speedway Post by seans19 on 02/08/14 at 3:42am So do you drivers, crew members, etc., view this as a positive or negative change for the track? P.S. I'm just a fan that came across this on their FB page so I don't know all the ins and outs of this sound rule debacle. |

Well.....the track is still open, so I guess it's a positive. |
Title: Re: New 2014 Sound Requirements at Ocean Speedway Post by oceanspeedway on 02/08/14 at 12:58pm Ocean is 90@100. track being 65 ft wide if I use the 114 ft logic you could only run the bottom of track and be 96.3 at 160 ft..but that still long ways from the 102-106 dba most modifieds are. Far as my "palms getting greased" Does me no good to entertain such a ludicrous statement that is based on speculation..I will say It's flattering that so many think I have so much influence on IMCA to be able control their decision..if this was case I would of never reversed the decision on mufflers.
