Be careful about the punt remark Sparkey..The one thing that is great, is I get to watch all the races on the video, by myself, and without others around to influence me. I have been around a long time, and can tell what a car is doing and not doing, and what causes things to happen on the race track.....
From where I was it looked like a punt.. Sparky-no "e"

None of the team Simkins team should say anything negative on what happened to Billy. Billy knows that you will be raced as you race others! It always comes back full circle. It may not be with the same person, same track, same year, but it always gets you! Larry.
You can say anything you want about us Mickey, but at least I can say that Billy is a cleaner driver, and is more respectful to other drivers, than you ever were.....So knock off your almighty crap, your not impressing anybody......

Like I said watching the video ,and not in the heat of the moment, let's you see what really happens on the track. That slow motion thing is great.....At the time I too thought Billy got into Rich, until I saw why.. Believe me I watched the Heat and Main video very carefully, and I know exactly what happened in both races.
PS I know it is SPARKY...I just haven't had much sleep in 2 days...lol

On a much happier note....Billy and Nicoles wedding on the ship was really nice. Had a tear in my eyes when they said their I do's, been a long time coming. Hope they enjoy their cruise, and is not to late getting back to Bakersfield Saturday.
ps.. when we were going up to the wedding area, Billy saw the computer area, and started laughing, because he thought he was going to have to go thru withdrawls, not having his computer for a week. That's my boy, such a romantic...lol

Cool thing about cameras are they don't lie (Unless you are a Hollywood Starlett),
However, they can't show intent..and you have the opportunity to replay and analyze a situation that was created in a instant.
In part, that is where I give a lot of respect to the HOTDOGS in the DLM cars who can dice and split traffic while still running wide open and finish the race w/o a scratch. BUT even those guys screw up sometimes in a SNAP judgement call.
You have to wonder sometimes....
Was it Luck? ... or was it SKILL? ...
Speaking of luck and skill, wasn't that a FORD that set fast time w/ a NEW record? LOL

Billy impressed me last night on the track. If it wasn't for that rut in one he would have been hard to beat. The Breshear car (40) sure looked faster than I had ever seen him also. Good job man. I thought it was a great SS race. Congrats to Lee Jensen for being there when it counted.

All in all a great night of racing... EXCEPT for the STUPID 2 yellow rule.
That rule KILLED B. Pounds, because HE got hit, and the car the hit him got locked to his door bars... He and Toby had a great battle going and were both charging toward the front. That BLACK Flag was very SAD.
RULES are good, but sometimes there needs to be a OVERRIDE process, or appeal, or SOMETHING. 2 great cars, on the sidelines.
Ok I'm trying to live with the cause and collection rule. If your involved in the wreck you go to the back. But I find it hard to believe that every car that was involved in the first big pile up, got a yellow charged to them. By the way Brad was not involved in the wreck, he stopped before hitting any car. How come the #92 was in the back, was he not involved in the big pile up. Brad past him cleanly. Then the #92 door slammed Brad and got stuck. How is that not rough driving. I would like to know how Brad recieved the Black flag and not the #92. car. Sandie, I know you didn't make the call, but if you can explain this. I would sure like to know. Thanks Richie

Cause two yellows and your done! "BUT" collect is not your fault, there should be no number of collects, this part of the rule needs to be looked at, we went from 20 cars to 10 cars by lap 25 cause of this collect rule, its not fair to the drivers or the fans, i think all of the drivers from every class should take a vote!
"NO" black flags for the number of collects, who is with me on this?

You know Richie, when this rule about if you cause 2 yellows in a race your out, started to keep the shows going, and to park the cars that could not keep their cars under control, and spun out alot. The collection part was to keep cars from plowing into or thru wrecks, and causing a more dangerous situation. This can be a good rule if common sense, and logic is used. In my opinion, there should be no 2 collect and park it penalty. Most of the time if you get collected up in someone elses spin or wreck, it is not your fault, and you didn't cause the yellow, it was just bad racing luck. It's bad enough that you have to go to the back, but to penalize you by making you park it, is just not fair.
Like I have said this is a rule has it's purpose, but it also takes, common sense and a fair judgement call on the officiating part.

I have been debating weather to post on this thread or not but feel I need to say a few things.
First of all I'm not making any excuses for what happen between Billy and myself, just giving you my point of view. The track had holes the size of volkswagons and was partly hookup. To be fast on that kind of surface you have to be on the gas and up on the wheel if your car is working good. I followed the 68 for about 25 or 30 laps making a few attempts to pass that were neither blocked or I couldnt do it without contact so I was being patient. The race was winding down and going into turn 1 the 68 pushed pretty hard with a lap car on the outside. I set the car early and tried to fill the hole on the bottom and slid up and he started coming back down to protect the bottom and we hit hard door to door. Thats how I saw it and felt it. Everybody see's something different but I also looked at the tape in slow motion. I have apologized to the crowd, to Billy himself and to Sandie for this. I know it doesnt help but whatelse can I do now. I will take full blame for this.
Now what really upsets our team is to come on this board and have the E/W series director continually bad talking me for this. We have been one of the biggest supporters of this series from the start and to get this kind of treatment from Sandie just has us rethinking our situation. Now all the sudden I'm the biggest S.O.B. and roughest driver out there. Some of you might already think that but thats your choice. I would almost understand it if this is something I always do, then maybe you would have to send a 7' bodyguard over to straighten me out. If the rolls were reversed weather the 68 would ever do something like that or not and believe me I have gotten the short end of the stick many times at SMS, you would not and have not seen me posting on this site, especially if I was the director of the "series", that this driver or that driver cant race me clean. Most of drivers in the super streets all it would take is a apology for when sh$t happens and then its done and lets try it again next race. Doesnt ever make it right or easier to accept but its racing.
After this treatment I think we will rethink our support of the E/W series next year.
3 more races and Thank God its over, I've had enough!!!
Note: I did get punted in the heat and it was no big deal.

Your a class act Denman and I personally would hope that in the off season that you would re-think this and change your position and support the E/W.
That said I agree with your articulation here and would say that with all that Sandie has been up to leading up to this race that her emotions are in "haywire" mode right now, not to make excuses for her.
My take on this incident would be no different than what happened between you and Lee for the finish..... a racing incident............

Rich Denman is one of the cleanest drivers out on the race track on any given night, period. What happened from my vantage point was exactly the way he stated he went low when Billy pushed and then Billy came down and hard contact was had. Truly a racing deal.
Now Rich had the faster car, that much was clearly obvious to all in the stands and for him to race without bumping for as many laps as he did says alot about his clean driving. There are countless other racers who would not have waited as long as he had to in order to make a move, he went when he thought he could pull it off, contact was made and that should have been the end of it especially when he made the classy gesture of apologizing on the microphone in front of the whole crowd.
Rich dont quit, you are alot of fun to watch race and you certainly have lost no respect from this fan in the stands.
Good job to Lee Jensen, another class act to watch race.

Ok Rich, here is my response to you on this subject.
(1) After the race we were not very happy, and if it was reversed, you wouldn't have been either, but we did not yell, cuss, cause a big ruckus, just told you what we thought.
(2) We have not been posting a bunch of nasty remarks, or threats or anything else.
I posted 9-4 @12.11am, that I wasn't very happy, but I didn't bad mouth you, and ended the post with that's what you call racing.
Billy posted 9-4 @ 6:30, and just responded to a post and said what was wrong with the car, also didn't say anything about you or bad mouth you.
Billy posted 9-4 @ 9:47am responding to something Larry said, had nothing to do with you at all
I posted 9-4 @ 7:22 responding to something Sparky said, was not bashing you.
I posted 9-4 @ 7:31 responding to something Larry said about our team, had nothing to do with you at all.
I posted 9-4 @ 7:30 in response to a post, just said I watched the video and said I could see why and how things happened, no bad mouthing you.
I posted 9-4 @ 8:18 about Billy and Nicoles wedding
My last post was to Richie McGowen about the C & C rule, had nothing to do you and Billy.
So the way I look at it Rich, I don't feel that I have been out of line by trashing, bad mouthing, making threats or anything.
Our team is allowed to get upset sometimes, just like you have done in the past, and just because I am the paper pusher for the E/W Series, does not mean, I am not allowed to say anything when it comes to something happening to our team.
The one thing we have and will always do is leave the last race behind us, and go on to the next one. We don't hold grudges, or bad feelings going into the next race, because it doesn't benefit anyone, or anything.
I'm sorry you feel the way you do about your continuing support of the E/W, because you have been a big asset. But I have got to tell you, that if doing the series, to help guys out, just to help the sport, not for anything for myself, means I cannot voice my opinions, like everyone else does when something happens to their car, then I too am going to rethink continuing the E/W series.
We are in this for fun, not to looses friendships, and carry hard feelings around. If it comes to a choice between continuing this E/W series and our own race team, I'm sure you know which one I am going to choose.
