First of all I know the season is not over. But I want to thank Sandie, Scott S. and Cris Kearns for all the great racing that was put on this year. New ideas and great communication was certinly a major factor in the success of 06'. Now to get to my point of "promoting, help". The best way to spread a good word is by word of mouth, it is the cheapest and to be honest if someone YOU KNOW tells you good things about a Race Track you tend to trust them. In the past two weeks we have had to national celebrities race at our track. With the experience they took away what would be the WORD they spread. All racers want recognition for accomplishments. Face it we don't do it for the money. We have been given two great opportunities for recognition and in my opinion we blew it. The racing community is small and the word spreads fast with help of the great www.com. Everyone has said it before "I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN, THEY RACE LIKE A BUNCH OF IDIOTS OVER THERE". First impressions only come once, and never return. I know I would rather be remembered for for being beat and racing clean then beating someone up on the track and racing like an idiot. Everyone wants or dreams of a chance at the big time at least once in there life. Young racers have been discovered by racing online in leagues (i.e. Denny Hamlin). So when you visit a new track you represent your home track and when you race at your home track against a visitor it is no different. We race at one of, if not the premiere Dirt Tracks in the third largest State in the Nation. We must conduct ourselves accordingly. There is no dought of our talent there should be no dought in our professonalism. Treat one another like racers not crash walls racing is GIVE and Take not TAKE and Give. If you treat newcommers with respect they bring more newcommers. You don't know what could happen Shrader could have brought Edwards next time they are related, Capps could bring Force doughtfull but you never know. The point is we all want our sport to grow lets do our best to help it not hurt it.
Thank You, Racers, Crews and Fans Mike Thomas
