Johnson clinches Hobby tiltle

Congrats to Mike. Hobby stock Champion again! Awsome year, missed a race and still have a 88 point lead. He doesn't even have to show up to the last race. I don't think this has ever been done before.

It's a race for second now. Tina is only 2 points behind Clyde Benson  for second.  This year should of ended with a M. Johnson and C. Johnson one two finish. Not some BS air pressure rule after the race DQ. Just not right. How can you gaurantee a Beadlock will hold air after a full race of bumping and grinding. But after last years DQ of Tina for using a GM starter, I'm not surprised by anything. I can't believe Tina's beadlock held 30 PSI. I guess we will have to re-think using a beadlock for the last race. Richie

what!!! u can not tech it after a race! tech it before they go on the track, sounds like just more problems and politics for some small dirt track... what if ur tire leaks what if u ran over somehting in the middle of the race, that is retarded for a DQ

We always put a little extra in it so just in case it does drop in air. I do think they should just check it before the race but I understand why they dont, with all the people that run them. It not really fair for use to have to do that but I guess that is just the way it is.

I checked the rule. It does say 30 PSI "at all times". It also says, wheels must have car number on them. I better check all our wheels because I know they are not all numbered. And if they will DQ you for air pressure after a race. Who knows how far they will go with these rules. LOL

The track needs to look at this rule. "At all times". Does that mean if you get hit and blow out your Beadlock, that you are DQ'd for being under 30 PSI while going to the pits to change your tire. Richie

Does Mike use a mighty bead or a bead lock. Because I'm  suprised Tina's bead lock held air. Not very many do. I'm glad that Mike won the title, but it would of been a whole lot more fun at the last race if Mike wouldn't have passed the air pressure tech. I even tried to bribe Mike. I told him if he missed  last nights race, I would give him a ride in my street stock. Of course I was kidding but he turned me down any way. That boy can drive. Richie

Mike did a hell of a job this year, he deserves the championship.
Let me get a few things straight. I have no reason to cheat. I have the fastest car out there when I am perfecly legal. I had a problem with a brand new tire and wheel leaking. Terry Henry had the tire mounted ready to go for me when I got to the track. I told him it was leaking and he gave me a new ring to put on it. After the heat we were sure the problem was fixed. My right rear air pressure was at 31 lbs when I went on the track for the main. About 15 laps into the race a fellow competitor turned into me on the front straight, hooked my right rear with his bumper and damaged my beadlock ring ( on the tape you can actually see sparks fly from the wheel ). About 5 laps later I thought something was wrong because the handling started to change. The car was getting loose. I kept getting the thumbs up signal from my crew so I thought I was just being paranoid. I was suprised when I pulled to the scales to see all the people around my car. When I got to the tech pad I could not believe the whining. At that time I walked to my right rear and could not believe how low it was. It was flat( I didnt put a guage on it but i would be suprised if it had 10 lbs. in it). It's not like there was 26 lbs. to make it look like I was running low pressure, the tire was flat!
I feel that the DQ was a political decision because of all the whining going on. If it would have been anyone else, or not been my 8th win I'm sure I would not have been DQ'ed.
I understand that people may be frustrated with me winning but it is not easy for me. There are lot of people that work their a$$ off to help me keep the car going and keep it fast. I don't have someone footing the bill for me and I don't pay someone to work on my car.
It sucks that we can work so hard all year to have it taken away by something like this. I got to see alot of people's true colors last night .Thats okay though, we'll be back next week to get win #9. I'm sure that will p!$$ alot of people off. I think that comment about the mighty bead by snoopy was a low blow because they loaned me that wheel the last race. Snoopy your nose is so brown I can smell the sh!t over here. Keep kissing Richie's a$$ and maybe you can get some of his money too.

Wo Chad! I understand your anger but any thing I give Mike, he has earned. Nobody is sucking up to me. You got screwed and  of all people I understand how you feel. Tina was DQ'd last year twice, once for a rocker arm that Mike Thomas approved just two weeks before opening day and then again for a starter that was a Delco Remy starter just not year, make and model for which the rules did not specify. This air pressure rule is BS but don't pregnant dog at us because of it. Besides I was told you were low on air pressure before you went out and all you did was add air. That doesn't fix a leaky wheel.

Chad your not the only one dq'ed on tire pressure. Just in my case it didn't matter. But i agree with everyones sentiments that it is not a logical rule and it was applied wrongly.

In fact I don't even understand the rule or how it got started in the first place.

I truly feel that if I can't win I want Mike to win. After last night I don't think the feeling is mutual. I really took that mighty bead comment as a slam towards me. I also took the "at least we get to see Tina finish second!!!" comment as a slam. My crew and I as well as my family in the stands have to put up with alot of trash talking by people with other teams. Tina was one of the louder ones on the tech pad as well as Janell. It's getting old.
I am no longer angry, now I'm going to get even, by winning my 9th race. I understand why the track made their decision. I have won the last 2 races, and to be honest, it wasn't fun because I pi$$ed people off doing so. Next week I'm gonna have fun pi$$ing people off by winning.

To me Perrin, the difference between you and I is, you were at 26 lbs. Kinda makes it look like you were running low pressure. My tire was flat, I was lucky to finish the race.

After an american stock race earlier in the year the pill was puuled to check brakes. One driver had no rear brakes and said the line broke during the race and pumped all the fluid out. Seeing the broken line and understanding there are some things you cannot control, he was not disqualified. I feel I should have been treated the same way. My beadlock ring is damaged from the hit during the race.

well chad I guess that is yoiur opinion I never felt like I was slamming you!!!  but if you feel that way that is your problem.  I thought I was a member of your family but apparently I must not be!!!!  So good luck to you I won't want to  be accused of slamming you.  All we did was off a tire to another team but apparently that was a bad thing to do in your eyes.  As routing for Tina the way I see your mathmatically out of the running for 2nd or am I wrong!!!!!!

I havn't talked to Tina. But if she was gloating in any way, that is wrong. I know she holds some resentment from the last race towards you for slamming her into the wall but that does not excuse any shiiiit talk. As far as you winning the next race, I guess you have as good of a chance as any one. But my money is on Tina or Mike.

I just got IM from one of the Tech's and he said there was no damage to your Bead Lock.

It is. There was a lot of people around Mike and I'm sure he had alot going through his mind at the time. Maybe he didn't see it. My brother told me last night it was damaged, though I did not verify that until today.

After the race I thought Terry should refund my money for the wheel. Unfortunately the wheel was damaged during the race and I am out hopefully just the money for the ring.
