Well, that sure would fix the nose heavy problem that Billy is concerned with.

I agree that the pay structure sucks.  We need to find the total purse that the tracks will pay, then develope a new pay structure.

http://www.imca.com/rules.php?divisionid=3

A easy link to the rules. And yes everyone is right the street stock cars that are out there are to far gone .Thats why I bought up the IMCA hobby idea Same type of cars with more rules. Build the IMCA hobbys up then ask if the drivers want to step up to a IMCA street.

And as far as the purse look at the modifed purses for the same tracks Im sure there not that much higher than the streets  yet Im sure there car count on a weeknight beats our counts for a SAT night

i think bring in the hobby stock class is a great idea but you must keep our street stocks bakersfield santa maria kings speedway are the only place we can run our street stocks but thats okay now promoters pay attention and get together and come up with one set of rules and stabalize them people like this division and would get in it but they always say to much confusion between all the different race tracks you all have a promoters meeting in december this is where you all need to come together and get with it

BOSNEYERACIN

That is the one of the reason why I say go with the IMCA hobbys ,to build a field of cars that can be converted(easily) to IMCA street specs without taking directly any cars away from the super streets, hobbys for factory/american stocks.

If the IMCA format works good for the hobbys than expand to the streets and see how well that works. BABY STEPS

but keep our streets for now it would be great if imca just recognize the fact that almost all the street stocks on the west coast are leaf spring cars and come up with a division for leaf spring cars like they did for the stock car class that is all coil spring cars

Well i've been watching this thread and i think its time for me to add my two cents. Stock car classes on the west cost have rules that change yearly if not daily. A good point would be to read the body rules for the Bakersfield Super Street and then click over and look at any of the pictures of Brad Pounds car. It is time! for natinal rules that are both techable and inforceable. IMCA modifieds are succesfull for this very reson. Race your car all year wherever you want same tires same engine same car. Then you can pack up your trailer go back to Boone and try your luck. IMCA rules are the future of Street Stock racing today like they were for IMCA modifieds in 1989. In 1989 late model and pro-mod rules were fragmented which left tracks with small car counts. IMCA modifieds came along and to this day are virtualy the same cars as they were in 1989. The purpose of are meeting on Wendsday is to discuss running IMCA stock cars, everyone is welcome and invited to come put in there two cents. Hope to see all of you there. For directions call-

AT ONCE

You guys Want All these rule but when someone comes on here and makes a way to make it Affordable and yet Never have to worry about rule changes. You guy's all Bytch. Dam

As I said before in another post

When I see a SS Leaf Spring Car WITH 4 SCREW JACKs on the REAR.. 1 For each eye Let ..  STREET Where is Street In that
That is Not a Super Street  Thats a Limited Late Model. HANDS DOWN..
Thats when it's getting out of Hand..  You guys have Just Blew the rules Right out the park now..

Then We have the Don Roberts Race and your Bending the rule for those with No Floor Pan and Aluminum bodies..

So Next Race What weight Penalty Do I have to Take for a Aluminum Block and Heads and My Quick Change rear end?

Oh come on Bend the rule for me Too.....

This would and could Help the SS out..
Just turn the EVW into a Series LLM Class.  Then you can do what you want with them
Run your own Tour Class

Call em what you want. Street cars now days have air ride and computers. As long as we're on a street tire (DOT) and have fenders we're a Street Stock. If we go to a non DOT tire and/or run without fenders the name change is in order. Hanford can make the E vs W cars illeagal if they would like, it's their track. I hope they don't. Some of us have made the move back from Mods and Late models to what I think is an affordable and competitive class. Someone should talk to Marion Collins(SP) from Mesa Marin, I think they divided their SS into two different groups out there, and see how it worked for them. Why go down the same path when you can just ask someone how it worked out?

Facts and opinions:
We (23) will continue to support the E vs W in 2007.
Some rules do need to be looked into further.
The 2nd year of E vs W and 1st year of united rules between SMS and Bako has been a success in my opinion.
I got a lot of experience driving an IMCA mod, and don't mean any disrespect to IMCA and specially not to Paul Vetter.
The IMCA SS class could be a good thing, but honestly, I won't build one.
If I move from this division it will be to the WAS or to the go kart track with my kids.

A true 21st century Super Street would have a Composite body, aluminum block and heads, fuel injection, roller cam, titanium rods, traction control, 3- link rear, etc..
because that is what is currently on the street.

We are racing 30 year old technology now, we should try to keep it down to a couple of decades or so.

i thought this was for a hobby type class....not to replace the ss. i ike the ss now....and most of the cars in the class look and run like ss "should" but there are a few that look like the lms and all that crap....but dont put everyone in that catagory...its racing there are going to be those who want to bend the rules and try to find there way around them so that they can have that edge.....it is the other drivers jobs as well as the officials to keep the grey areas out of it. the problem is that there will always be grey areas....and its not just in the ss...the hobbies and the americans are doing the same thing.....theres always people tring to bend the rules that little bit.....the evw was a good thing and there is always going to be issues....but what happened to finding a class for intermediate racing? i thought thats what this was for?

St Odie, on any given weekend, at the same time you could have 15 cars at Bako, 10 at SMS, 10 at Kings, 10 at Chow, 10 at Perris. Thats 55 cars on the same weekend at the tracks that have similiar rules. Of course that is if Kings keeps the rules for Super Streets as they are/were. There's still 8-10 local cars in the Hanford area. Chris Hamilton, I did know that you are car 22. No we won't be able to be at your shop Wednesday nite. Johnny's too busy with work right now to make it. Jimmy knows how we feel about the rules, spoke with him at SMS Saturday nite.

Doesn't seem like a good idea to start a new class, when the tracks in California are having a hard time filling the classes they already have.

Unless it will be replacing a class.

the point of this was to decied what rules hanford was going to use as there hobbie/american/ factory stock class...they dont have one right now and want one started....the only 3 options i see is either use someones existing rules, use imca hobby stock rules, or not have a class...i personally unless you are planning on having all tracks change to imca rules (which would make alot of existing cars in bako, sms, and chowchilla illegal) becuase if these rules arent built to where anyone at the nearby tracks can run....then it will be hard to have openshows as well as other cars at weekly events when no one else runs.....i say adopt the hobbie rules of chow and bako....jmo
