Awsome, looks like it should be a great car count. I hope some guys from victorville, perris and up north can make it out too.

Wow... You guys are getting stroked on that deal...

$40 PER DAY for a pit pass on a multiple day race? Not to mention the $100 entry fee for JUST THE CAR, and that is the same for the lower divisions?

I don't care which class is the draw, if you're going to charge EVERY CLASS the SAME AMOUNT, then you need to PAY EACH CLASS THE SAME AMOUNT!

There is inherently something wrong with that. I thought Bako was the track that was BEHIND the racers and was all about stepping forward and treating the racers the right way. By the looks of those fliers, that event sure does look like the same old deal of a promoter making the back gate (THE RACE TEAMS) pay the purse. What happened to PROMOTION and putting people in the seats?

I'm sorry, but if a track can't include a pit pass along with the entry fee (we shouldn't have to pay entry fees at all, but that's an entirely different conversation...), then that track is putting the screws to the racers for that event.

I still can't get over seeing that $40 PER DAY for a pit pass...

Craig...... It's $1500 to win. That's a fair entry that is consistant with other payouts.
This is a great opportunity for a Hobby that's been running for +-$300 (?) to win all year.

I still think if the WAS can have a $5000 to win and only charge a $25.00 entry, we should be able to do it. The WAS promoter hussled and gained sponsor support to get a $28k purse, they used other resources to get the money not the personal checking accounts of each  racer.  Just an opinion, not said to push any buttons.

In all fairness, getting sponsership for a DLM event and a Street stock event probably present a whole different set of surcomstances(sp). No offence meant but the draw just isn't there of this type of car.

I think SS are only one night so they have a Headliner main event on Fri. to help draw the crowd on Fri. night.

Your right Lee. Thats what was said last year, that the S/S could be the headliner Friday and have a "Main" event for the track. I like the idea that we are only racing Friday night, there are a lot of 2 day races coming up...

The one night format leaves room for the Friday night partying and no worry about racing with the hangover on Sat. It's a great plan. I think they had me in mind when they came up with the idea.

Really, the purse for the most part is irrelivant..Only the top5 really get anything close to break even..Most of us race for fun and braggin rights...If you are in it for the money, you lost before you entered...I agree, lower the entry so more can afford to come,  and leave the purse where it is or get a big corp sponsor to put up some money.  In most divisions of this type of racing, It really is not about potential money, the prize for winning, it is the up front money, what it will cost me to come to the track.  The more cars, the better the show..Only one guy wins anyway, but it is sure fun to watch 3 or 4 try to hit turn one at the same time.......dr6

streets  only get one day because of car count .    Two years ago they only had 28  cars so Scott moved the hobbys in for two days with 45 cars

I think some of the stuff going on during the middle of the year took some of the wind out of the sails for the LM and SS in reguards to "Big Shows."  The two classes got to experience new and fresh ideas presented to them not only in race formats but payouts as well. I'm still waiting for tracks to adapt a logical format that rewards "the field," for their entertainment, not the nose. I still think a payout like:

1000, 900, 800, 700, 600, 500, 450, 400, 350, 300, 250, 200, 150, 150, 150

looks better than

1500, 1000, 600, 400, 300, 250, 175, 150, 150, 150, 150,

If tracks cant afford it maybe its time to hire a sales team that gets X% of what they sell.  I mean a professional sales team, not someones crew chief walking around the parts houses.  I don't think that you gotta give the drivers lotto winning, just show payouts with even distrubution that show the tracks appreciate ALL the drivers involved, not just the guys on the tech pad.

"Open Comp Show"
Driver pitpass = 150
3 crew pitpass = 120
Fuel 50

320 -  5th back is a net loss.

(Not included)

fuel for tow - 50 (conservative)
Two day shows which includes hotes, and double pit passes for crew.

So basically, for the 4 cars that got any kind of reward, the other 30 cars just took a loss.  Leaving a race track holding your ersh is never a good feeling.

Wow Billy I think your thinking Like me Now

This is what I have been talking about.....................

It's alway a Loss.
and Just think of the guy that comes up from the B main He's Paid more..........

The Best guy could have a bad night and Still Lose..........
How Can the WAS and the EVW Put on the Big Dollar Races and the Track Promoter Can't?????

SPONSORS It'sall about the SPONSORS

They have to quit useing the pit money to pay the purses and get Sponsors to Pay for it...
