That I built an "Open Comp Car", this time last year, in hopes of going to Bako to grab the "Bud Nationals" hoop-la.
Low and behold, It looks like we have been excluded from competition because of the slope of our filler panel.

Let's see, I can take the sprint car motor and put a carb on and run, have 9" tires, and loads of other crap, and they are concerned with the slope of my filler panel?

I am a very paitent guy, but having had just hung a new body and nose, Fallon, NV is looking better for our 5-car group.

Just that it be known, we don't even have a MD nose, we run a ARP (Aluminum Racing Products).

We just can't take the chance of submitting our team's non-refundable entry, only to be disallowed a fair shot

And just so that you don't think I'm a pu$$y, we'll be fresh off of the Reno race, and home by Monday, and have to change the trans, Tires, Wheels, and several other items that don't pass Reno spec's, and have to be ready by Friday?

Poorboy LMR Senior Offline Posts: 295	Re: I thinK it's BS Reply #3 - 09/24/06 at 10:25pm Didn't they let Pounds and Corwin run a filler panel this year ? The rules say no LM MD noses. Does that mean you can run a reg LM nose? It seems kinda odd that they won't allow one in an open comp race.

If your talking about the EW rules that all the contributing drivers AGREED on then ya, I'm for those rules on EW races. Since it's not a EW race, no one really has any input on the rules other than the track itself.

ha u wouldnt think they would turn away a car count... but just to clarify...
1. corwins nose is not a late model nose it is a 5 star performance nose, just like mine was
2 the rules just say 5 star perfpormance nose, no wedge style
3 yes brad's was like that so i am not sure why they will not let you run here with us
u do enough sweet talking they will let u. so dont give up... jsut keep calling lol...

Don't be too sure...I wanted to run my I-4 mod with the open comp mini mods and because I and some of the others from Madera dont have front fenders, we cant run either...You would think that open means open who cars about a little sheet metal or plastic up front. Car count is what brings fans.. I understand a sanctioned poin ts race on a weekly basis the cars need to conform,but this is different. It is the end of the year. Who is going to hang a new body on for one race...?dr6

The flyer is supposed to say Bakersfield Street Stock Rules apply with the following exceptions: Blah, Blah Blah. Nobody wanted them through the year but now it is ok? This is not an Open Comp race if it was we would let the cars that have been calling us from Nevada come with their J-Bars and Fully adjustable 4-links. How would you like that. Oh I forgot it would give you guys something else to come up to me and B*TCH about. Just round out your nose and come race not a big deal. RULE STANDS.
