i see what your saying 3d about your body.....i think the rule should have been inforced from the begining....but they made brad change his car....so why cant you change yours? i why would you make a ss look like a late model? and this is not made to offend at all...jmo
In all reality, this car was built as a Victorville Super Street that would have also been legal for Perris, Reno, Fallon, El Centro, but could be easily converted to run Open Shows.
IMO, if you were to remove all of the bodies and carefully examine the chassis that run in the front at Bako, I think you would find that we are at a disadvantage rather than an advantage.
I personally like the look of the "Batmobile" and it was purely a personal preferance that it resembles it's big brothers, the late models.
If you take a look at the big picture, the super street type cars across the nation more closely resemble the 3D than the typical Bako car.
I wanted the leather this year, but as I said I am very patient, so we will have some fun despite our little set-back, and regroup for next year.

The flyer is supposed to say Bakersfield Street Stock Rules apply with the following exceptions: Blah, Blah Blah. Nobody wanted them through the year but now it is ok? This is not an Open Comp race if it was we would let the cars that have been calling us from Nevada come with their J-Bars and Fully adjustable 4-links. How would you like that. Oh I forgot it would give you guys something else to come up to me and B*TCH about. Just round out your nose and come race not a big deal. RULE STANDS.
THANK YOU

HEAD TECH BAKERSFIELD SPEEDWAY
I am actually glad this thread came about because I and many other people were under the impression that the Bud Nationals were an open show with a few rules, but in reality it is a regular show with a few rules.
I fully planned on showing up (even if we had changed the nose) with the crossovers, aluminum calipers, 3-link, and as many things as the bag-o-tricks had to offer.
So this thread could well have saved me quite a bit of dough and headache.

I've run a 3 link as have others at the Bud Nationals. Theres no cu inch rule (or is there?) so its not really a "bakersfield rules apply race" The body rule on the nose appears to be cut and dry on the rules however.

It is a Bako Rules apply race if you want it changed call Ivan or Scott. We did not want an Open Comp race for fear no one would show thinking they could not compete. I say leave it as is and change it next year if open comp is what you want. We wanted to pull as many people as possible that supported Bako this year. Not the teams that only run for the big money. Not to offend anyone, just to show appreation to the loyal supporters that are there each week. No hate mail please that is not what we tried to do.

I called the speedway today. There is a cubic inch rule for the Nats. Bako rules apply except for the rules mentioned on the flier.

So we started a CID rule for this year?? I think this is a big mistake. Not the same Bud Nats anymore??
Mike,, we needed some notice for the change, I just finished changing out motors???
I guess I'll find another place to break in the 434.
I thought the SMS call on Hoods SS chassis was the boner of the year; this one doubles that.

Under the hood of the 3D is a great place to break in the 434---

The is the first time in how many years there is going to be a cubic inch limit??? It was always iron heads, iron blocks, period. Wow, I think this one could backfire or at the least cause some hard feelings!!!

If the race was a regular rules apply race they should have kept it as a point night. It never has been. The rules on the flier should be the only rules for this race. EVERYTHING (not just cubic inch) is a go.

i like the rules myself...105 " wheel base, no plus or minus 1 inch...ANY 9" tire...no crate motors...unless they have steel heads...i think these rules are great...i bet this rule changes since the crate motors used this year have alum heads...duhhhhhhhhh...

You are absolutly right!! This show has always been a run what you brung open show, that's why they called it the nationals. No cubic inch rule. the only rules were what was on the flyer, was wheel base, steel block & heads, carbs, fuel and tires. Nothing on the flyer stating Bako's rules apply. Even the different noses was ok.

So the next question is there going to be a CID tech?
Normally there is'nt much tech at the Bud, but this set of rules are different.
There should be a manditory CID inspection for the guys that are abiding by the rules.
I reread the poster and I still can't find any reference to "Bako seasonal rules Except the following......"
I feel for the guy that reads the flyer and shows with a big motor or a 3 link, no matter how far he drove.
I would be nice to think that everyone reads this board for clarification; but most dont.
On the good side while rereading the flyer, I like the split B main for qualifying. Evens out the chances to get in the main!

Now rumor has it there is no CID rule again. LOL. Through this whole deal it looks like I'm going to end up at Bako with a big motor and Hanford with a point motor. Kind of backwards.
