Doesn't sound out of the ordinary for the last 56 YEARS of the liberal diatribe.   I'm sure Dave the (gee, Democrat sure would fit in there good) Republican will come to Obama's defence.   LOL   Duane

I only come to his defense when people are smearing with dis-information and false rumors. As I would for anyone. If people were spreading false and damaging rumors about Duane, I would stand up and defend him with all that I have. It's called fair play!

Obama is on his own when defending his own words.

I'm still leaning towards McCain, a man who I have admired for years. I just wish McCain would jump back on the 'Straight Talk Express" that seemed to derail when he felt he needed to pacify the right.

I got news for ya Dave, he ain't pacifying any one on the right except maybe the country club blue bloods, he sure isn't doing anything to regain the workin' man. This is the first election in my lifetime that I have even considered not voting because of the horrendously lousy choices we have," Empty suit" Obama and "over the hill" McCain. This is the best America has to offer for the president of the United States?  God help us!  Duane

Duane I think this is the best America has to offer because our Country is getting so screwed up that people with the brains know they wouldn't have enough time to fix it!! Look it took more than a president's couple of terms to screw things up so bad, so it is not going to get all fixed up in 4 years, atleast I don't think so!!

Well, true dat!!I don't have the answer, but I do know it ain't McCain and sure as hell isn't "the Bammer".  The ONLY reason McCain will get my vote is because he'll treat the troops fairly.  Duane

Never say never..... there is always someone better and someone worse.

Obama doesn't have enough expierience to say with any certainty he would be a better president or worse, only him being president and having to actually do something or do nothing will prove his capabilities.

G.W.Bush, will he go down in history as the worst president ever ? I don't think so, and here is why....

He got re-elected on the platform that he was going to fight terrorism and invade afganastan and Iraq if neccesary, he won the election hands down,
and then was supported by 98 out of 100 senators who reviewed the same intelligence info that the rest of the free world was reviewing. Only Obama and sen. Barney Clark voted no.

He has been under attack for his whole 2 term presidency by not only the opposing party, but the liberal media, let's not forget Dan Rather flushed a highly respected career down the crapper when he decided to fabricate news to discredit the president and his staff.... on and on the b.s. flies, BUT history doesn't remember the B.S. from liberals, or Dan Rather or anyone else ,
Bush will go down as a president who did what he said he would all along like it or not. If he was half as bad as people claim he would have been impeached !
I'm not saying he's the greatest president ever, but I would take a president like him over one who will change their position on things based on popularity
poles or what Dan Rather thinks...

Now remember 100 years from now history will say G.W. had a tough time as president and was unpopular with democrats and with the liberal press but stood his ground and stuck to his policies and served his country.
It will also say Slick Willy screwed a young White House page and lied about it on live t.v. to the whole nation.....

And remember , never say never,  the worst ever might be next.......

Bush said he would hunt down Bin Laden- He didn't
Bush said the war was won - It wasn't
Bush said Iraq had WMD's - They didn't
Bush said he would stabalize the middle east - he has not
Bush took the strongest military in the world and compromised it.
Bush took the strongest economy in the world and crippled it.
Bush took energy prices to the highest prices ever. (Including inflation)
Bush took a paid off deficit that had a surplus and created a debt that your grandkids will still be paying for.
Bush has created more terrorist with our occupation in Iraq.
Bush has the lowest approval rating of any president. Even Nixon.
The economy is in the worst shape it's been in since Bush Sr. (Maybe worse)

What exactly has Bush said he was going to do that was a success???

What exactly has Bush said he was going to do that was a success???

O.K. I guess I got myself into this...
1.) Do you really believe if Bin Laden was caught that terrorism would die ?
Does not capturing him make Bush a Liar ?
2.) technically the war is over, we are not fighting saddam and his royal army of idiots, we killed them. Iraq has saddam to blame for where they are, he sure did posture like he had wmd's, maybe if he had a second chance he would let the U.N. inspectors look at anything they want.
3.) Again, this was based on intelligence gathered by numerous countries, if he lied to get us into war he would have been impeachable, how come he's still in office ?
4.) I don't think anyone with a 8th grade or above education thinks that is even possible.
5.) Just how is our military compromised ? Some experts say being positioned where we are has kept Iran in a bit of a check mode, not wanting to be the next Iraq.
6.) The strongest economy was being effected long before GW, do we forget that Enron and Worldcom went under during Clintons time, not to mention one of the biggest financial debacles was the dot.com b.s., again under the beloved
slick willy when the sec allowed the dot.com companies to be valued on their potential worth instead of actual worth.
Also to be factored in besides the cost of Iraq is the cost of, the attack on the twin towers,( look it up, it was an expensive attack) one that quite possibly would not have happened if Clinton would have responded to the first attack,
or the attack on the U.S.S. Cole, or any number of terrorist attacks going on in the world while he was the leader of our country. He Did Nothing.....
Katrina and numerous other natural disasters and NAFTA...... there's your economy.
7.)Refer to #5   ( especially NAFTA )
8.) Dan Ratherish statement, fanatical muslims hate us and Israel, but mostly us and our western liberal views and lifestyles, if GW was gone today muslim fanatics would still hate us, really, we all know enough about them to know how they feel, they just want us all dead, and they are very smart about it. They won't attack anybody as a nation wearing uniforms, that would be a real fight and they know they would lose, but the majority of islamic countries fund terrorism to kill innocent victims everyday but would never admit to it, muslims don't just hate GW they hate you too.
9.) Kinda what I was talking about history will say, " He didn't waver to others opinions"  ( again, I'm not here to save GW's reputation, I just think there can always be someone worse, as I stated in the earlier post. )
10.) You have to take all things into consideration, if you look at it one way Bush has had a very low national unemployment rate through his whole 8 years, this is what has been used in the past to look at the countries economic condition,
if you look at it from gas prices and real estate disaster, then yes , you would blame Bush for all economic issues, but if you blame not the lenders, not the agents and not GW but people who got into loans they had no way of ever paying off, but stupidly thought property gains 25% in value every year and they can pay interest only for 2 years and sell and make 400,000.... these people can only blame themselves, they gambled.
As far as fuel prices, in the words of a US senator recently " if we even dropped just the drill bit for an oil rig on the ice tundra and acted like we were going to be self sufficient for a change,  OPEC would lower its prices." Bush was highly critizied for proposing drilling there years ago. ( worse economy than even Bush senior ? Answer: Who is Jimmy Carter ) and you will never count in the price we pay for illegal immigration.  billions.... and you can blame a few presidents for that.

Again, I'm not here to defend GW, but you can only blame one guy for so much. And then you have to look at who else had a voice in matters, as was posted in another thread, the dems have been less than impressive in the house.
and I believe this is because they suffer from wanting to do what makes people happy that minute not what they think is right in the long run. more worried about what the anchor man will say about them on the 6 o'clock news.

I would ask you to list what Obama has accomplished in his short political career that would lead you to believe he has the potential to be a decent president, I know he has voted over 100 times in his short term in the senate
"Present" which is what you say when you don't want to commit to an answer.

Not very Presidential to me.
