>a mere 1,200 fighters, backed against the wall in the northern city of
>Mosul.

> The destruction of al-Qaida in Iraq (AQI) is one

> The war in Iraq has been turned around 180

Just another conformation of how liberal and bias our news coverage has gotten.
I watch BBC and other foreign news channels on cable, they are far less dramatic in presenting the news, they just report it.   It's really pretty pathetic.

Here's my thought on why the media plays Iraq the way it does.

We didn't invade Iraq because we wanted to battle Al Quadia.  We invaded because we wanted to remove Saddam, who at that point we believed had WMD.  Once we removed him the US thought the Iraqi people would stand up and form a common society and defend their country.  It didn't happen.  Instead we ended up fighting "insurgents." (Guys in flip flops shooting at our troops because they want us out of their country.)  The instability to the region opened the doors of opportunities and Al Quaeda terror cells moved in causing more US casualties.  The US then brought in more troops and flushed most of Al Quaeda out of the region giving Iraq more security with our presence.

So why not call it a win?
To win that war, the objectives of the Iraqi government being able to keep their country stable without the US presence has not happened.

Thanks for making my point, the media shouldn't PLAY anything, just REPORT the news, despite their personal opinions and agendas.

68j, it's not over yet! I think we have made progress in Iraq.
You have to admit, If we leave now, then Every Terrorist from surrounding countries will move in and Slaughter Everyone who's not part of their click.
It's a Bad Move to leave right now. IMO

Which part is incorrect?  If you don't like the media, don't watch, read, or listen to it. That's your God given right. The freedom of speech is an American right.  Don't like it, move to Russia. You have a right to get your news from Hanidy, Rush and Spam mail.  If Americans as a whole felt those were reliable sources of information then the general media would have no impact on society.

95% of LMR politics is the RWF crying about the governement, how much they take from you, the changing of your values or your ideals, what your neighbors look like etc...  The door is at the border.  Don't like it, hit the exit.  Go vote in November, then move on with your lives.

I have learned over the years that the media is bias and one-sided. They "play on it"or "spin it" to make it appear as they want it to, even if it is not the TRUTH! Shame on them.
If you want to call it Freedom of Speech, go ahead and everyone needs to see it as it is..simply an opinion of a reporter that happens to be paid to report their opinion.

Whatever happened to just reporting the story factually and then let everyone form their own opinion???

I thought they were reporters, but I guess they should be referred to as opinionators.

And yes, I do exercise my right and do not read certain papers or watch certain news programs that must "spin" everything as if it were a record!

what handout do I want?  What do you have that I want?

During the Clinton ordeal Clinton got railed daily.  No one was crying the media was biased right.  I know personally the Cal goes out of its way to be balanced.

Nice try Billy, Rush and Hannity railed against Klinton, the media (big three) stood by him, care for a few examples?
