plug wires question (Read 3060 times)

W1CK3D R4C1NG LMR Senior Offline Posts: 492 Bakersfield	plug wires question 12/29/09 at 6:50pm how long do a set of MSD plug wires last? if there not burnt from the headers or have any cuts... also, how do you check them to see if they are bad or going bad? Thanks... Rich

Posts: 161	Re: plug wires question Reply #1 - 12/29/09 at 7:40pm If you can check with the manufactuer thru their web site they should have a ohm value when checked with an ohm meter.If there is no reading, infinite resistance then its an open circuit= bad plug wire.

TIM_BEWLEY LMR God Offline road zombie Posts: 1629	Re: plug wires question Reply #3 - 12/29/09 at 8:33pm i have used plug wires that were 3 to 4 yrs old when i would burn or break one at the track. i would think as long as they are not cracked or broken they should work until you can get new ones.

Posts: 161	Re: plug wires question Reply #5 - 12/30/09 at 9:20am I think that as long as you don't have an open circuit that you will have a plug wire thats still good.40-50 ohms is not that much resistance,anything under 100 would still probally be ok.
