It took me about 15 seconds Googling "LA Times immigration statistics" to find out that this was NEVER published in the LA Times and that the stats have been both increased if not entirely made up.

Don, I realize that you didn't author this email. I think I know you well enough to know that you have too much integrity to do that. But when you forward information without verification it does reflect on one's personal reliability.

And the 18racr comment that ""when it's put in numbers it really brings it into light" is clear proof that some take these "stats" as the truth.

Let me be clear! I am not saying that illegal immigration isn't a huge problem. It clearly is a huge problem. But if we are going to identify smart solutions to this problem we must begin by being honest about the problem and by being truly informed with accurate and truthful information on the issues.

And Don, I look forward to hanging out at "our table" with you and the rest of the lounge crew.
