ROUND THREE OF PERRIS – VICTORVILLE NORTH/SOUTH STREET STOCK CHALLENGE IS SATURDAY AT THE PAS!

(JULY 22, 2010, PERRIS, CA) Perris Auto Speedway fans are hoping the “South Will Rise Again” when the Riverside County clay oval hosts Round #3 of the North vs South Street Stock Challenge between racers from The PAS and Victorville Auto Raceway this Saturday night, July 24th. Joining the North vs South on the program will be the PASSCAR Super Stocks, Modifieds, Sport Mods, Pick-A-Part Factory Stocks and the California Lightning Sprint Cars.    Spectator gates will open at 5:00 PM on Saturday and the first race will be at 5:30.  

The series pits drivers from Perris Auto Speedway (South) vs drivers from Victorville Auto Raceway (North).  The first year competition is comprised of four events.  The final race in the series will be held at Victorville on September 5th,

Heading into the third round, Yucaipa’s Alan Grubel, who is representing the North, is the overall leader with 72 points.  Michael Laney, who resides in Torrance and who is racing for the South, is second in the standings just four points off the top spot.  Veteran driver Danny Queener, who also resides in Torrance and who represents the North, is third in the standings, 10-points behind Grubel.  South drivers Curtis Dietzsch, a two time PAS champion and last years VAR race champion, and Murrieta’s Stefan Davies are tied for fourth just 12 points behind the leader.  The top 10 in the standings are listed at the end of this release.

Through the first two rounds of the series, the tracks have been evenly matched with the South holding six of the top ten spots in the standings and the North manning the other four.  Davies, who is the current leader in The PAS Street Stock point standings, won the first race in the series at The PAS April 3rd.  Series leader Grubel won the second race at Victorville on June 5th.

In addition to the races, one lucky fan will win a raffle on Saturday night and will get to race a Pick-A-Part Factory stock at the next PASSCAR race on August 14th.  The car, safety equipment and pit crew will all be supplied.  Any fan 16 or older who holds a valid driver’s license is eligible.  Raffle tickets are $10.00 each.
