Richard Keldson. I believe he has race 5 times this year.
so would you say it was a "junk yard" motor that he was running?
glad the claim got reversed

Definitely. I guess it even had an hydraulic cam in it. He flat out told everyone he was just coming out to claim a motor and that he took out the one he normally runs to do so.

that is the problem with the whole claim deal, that it used for something other than its intended purpose

I was always under the impression you had to be a top 5 car to claim. Must have heard it wrong. I bet this guy won't get voted "most popular driver" anytime soon....lol

Yeah I wish that was the rule. But all you have to do is run the previous 2 points races at that track and finish on the lead lap. If you can do that you can claim anyone in the 4.
He will be back to do the same thing next race. Should be fun.

Well that sucks glad it was over turned for now, at least one of the rules was helpful in the claim area for you!! I guess someone may have to make sure he doesn't finish on the lead lap, i'm just sayin!!

well i don`t care if he got clammed or not.. But this is why IMCA doesn`t work out here.. You have 3 tracks that are IMCA, And i liked the class and everyone knows when they walk in the gate its a claim class in IMCA !!!!! But here`s my point to this.. Now days you have a bunch of guys all running 400, 421, 433m engines, who goes to the races to win the money they put up for it untill they get claimed and say no,, well we all know a true IMCA races doesnt run this kind of engine, so now a true IMCA races isn`t competitive at his own races that he knows is a claim class... Now with only 3 IMCA tracks and 10 none IMCA tracks to go race at,, so you go take all the bigger money from winning there till the game comes to you then you move on.. I have been claimed 3 times when it was only $325, and no trade, and yes it hurts,, but i gave them up cause that was the rule.... Now to clear it up i`m totaly not for engine claims at all because we all know if you want to make a true IMCA motor its still $3500,00 to do one that will finish.... I can also tell you I will not claim a engine from anyone .. If I can`t make my car run fasst enough to win with in the rules then I don`t need someone elses stuff I need to work harder.... Or do what I do most of the time.. i` not going to spend $8500.00 or more dollars to run with all the 421. 433 engines, to give away in a claim so what do I do I just don`t go to IMCA races even though i really want to run at these tracks.. the only way IMCA WILL WORK IN CALIFORNIA IS IF ALL TRACKS ARE IMCA and then if you refuse a claim you can`t race at any track ever !!!!! so forget the claims and go racing.. I like IMCA rules cause there the same all over.. but again you will always have someone who will spend the money to win weather they play completely buy IMCA rules or not..... It`s like all this talk about SPORT MOD OUT HERE, I think the sport mod is a good class, but you will still get the same people winning in it, then you will also get the same guys who will spend the money do more till they get caught taking your IMCA money till they refuse a claim.. So i have had a idea for the claim rule for years, but no one will listen, and I also dont think that just the 1st four cars should be the claimed cars. I think everyone in the A MAIN should be on the claim so the hole field plays the game, and not punish the 1st four cars for working on there cars to win races.. because you and I know allot of you dont work on your car till friday night or sat morning, and some of use work on ours 7 days a week to win,,, Well i`m tired of one finger typing now, and thats my 2 cene on the claims,, just do something about it or drop it...

i think if there were more people that claimed that would bring down the cost of all the expensive motors!!
now with that being said i think imca should have a spec motor option like wissota has. that gives a guy some relief that he wont get claimed at the end of the night.

That sounds like a hell of idea. A 604 crate motor and you are exempt from claiming, I like it............(what motor does Wissota use ??)

the 604 crate would be a great motor. put it back in the hands of the driver and his or her ability to set up the car. its around $5000 for a 604 sealed from GM or one of the certified rebuilders. thats less $ for a motor then 90% of whats out there. there also good for two seasons of racing. put everyone on the same motor and the cream will rise to the top. not the team with the most motor and $
