I remember going to the old Clovis speedway with my dad Lloyd Beard and going into the pits for my first time. We were working on his super modified and this guy came over and told my dad this was his first time racing and asked if my dad could help him on how to drive. My dad put down his tools and went over to the guys car and spent a hour there checking the car out and giving advice. When he came
back I ask why he did that? He said it's better to get the rookies up to speed faster so they wouldn't be as much of a hazard on the track. Much safer for all drivers. To this day I still do that. Maybe so
e of you other drivers can help in this way. Just a thought. Cameron
