ROLLER DERBY COMING TO PERRIS AUTO SPEEDWAY!
(Perris, CA, February 15) Whoa, Nellie! Roller Derby is coming to Perris Auto Speedway. That is right! You do remember Roller Derby, right? Black and white television with the hated New York Bombers vs the Los Angeles T-Birds. Ronnie "Physco" Rains punching Danny Reilly in the groin and Shirley Hardman defending against evil with her "Equalizer" baseball bat. Villainous manager Georgia Haas threatening to slap on a lawsuit preventing everyone's favorite, Ralphie Valladares, from ever skating on the high banks again. It is all coming to The PAS, but in a slightly different form.
"We are bringing Roller Derby to Perris Auto Speedway for three dates in 2011," longtime promoter Don Kazarian said with a smile. "Our version will be a little different. We will be doing it with cars, not roller skates, but the concept and the rules are nearly the same. We had Auto Hockey at the Southern California Fair last October and it was lot of fun. We expect more of the same with Roller Derby."
Teams will be comprised of three cars. There will be a "Jammer," a "Pusher" and a "Blocker." The Jammer will have its battery disconnected and will be pushed around the track by the Pusher. The Blocker will defend his Pusher from being taken out by the other teams cars. The Pusher and Blocker cars will be fair game and the opposition can push, hit or crash them out of the way. However, you can not hit, scrape, push or even touch another teams Jammer car. If you do your team will be immediately disqualified
Each Derby will be three laps around The PAS' inner quarter mile track or the furthest a Jammer car makes it - whichever comes first. Entry fees are $50.00 per team and the winning team will collect 100% of those entry fees! If ten teams enter on a night, that would mean the winner's would pocket $500.00. Entry is open to anyone who would like to put together a team. Rules are available at:

The dates for Roller Derby at The PAS will be April 16th, July 23rd and August 27th.

Perris Auto Speedway is located on the Lake Perris Fairgrounds (home of October’s Southern California Fair), approximately one hour east of Los Angeles and one hour North of San Diego. To get to the track, take the 215 freeway, exit on the Ramona Expressway and go three miles east to the fairgrounds.
