modified brake ?

on this mod i bought , it has the brake calipers in front of the axle . Is that really the right location for them? I would think behind the rear axle would be better to keep the dirt out or is that so the brakes would cool better or what?

it has nothing to do with dirt or keeping them cool.  but yes the brakes should be behind the axle tube.

by mounting them in the rear you can trail break the car into the corner and keep it up on bars.when mounted in front it forces the front of the down.

It only matter's if ur brakes r floated. In your case their not cause their mounted in front. If u want to float your brakes then yea u gotta move them. But if u don't want to just leave them its less work to do before the season starts. (It doesn't matter where their located if their not floated)
