rear gear question
03/07/11 at 5:40pm

I have a TCI powerglide that can be ran in 1st gear or 2nd gear according to there website...

so im guessing that would give me two different options on what rear gear to run a street stock at Bako...

is my thoughts right about that?

if so, what rear gears would be used?

Thanks...
Rich

TCI's says it has a 1.82 low gear planetary... im not a tranny guy, but im thinking that they mean 1st gear is a 1.82?

never mind about this... my hole thought on this was to be able to run in first gear but have the same RPM's and speed as running the 6.83's in high gear... but i dont think this will work becuase i need 1st gear to get the car moving... then go into 2nd gear for the race...

but thanks for your guy's info...

That really is only good if a guy is running a 10 bolt or 12 bolt and can not gear the correct ring and pinion gears...For instance he could run a 3.73 rear gear and have a total overall gear ratio of 6.79 to the rear axle...
