holly 4412 carb question
04/17/11 at 7:38pm

i bought a brand new holley 4412 carb for my hobby stock,  my question is,  is there anything i need to adjust since it will be on a race car instead of a street car,  i adjusted the float and changed the jets,   just wasnt sure if there was anything else since its on a race car and not a street car.
thanks

Havo, a regular 4412 will be a subpar carb to something like a vdl.  A vdl is a 4421 that's been calibrated by vdl. What stinks is vdl will run you 5-600 bucks, maybe less if you get one used. You may be able to have them calibrate your 4412.

It will function properly if the jetting and float is right. There air bleed screws on the side.  I believe you set them at idle. I forgot what the setting is but you can look it up. Don't mess with them unless there is an issue.

Usually if you seat them and then turn them back out between 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 turns, you'll be in the ball park..
