The advantages of the offset is that you won't drag the right side frame rail when you roll hard in the corner.  Too many times I think the perimeter chassis got in the way of getting the full effects of our setup.  JMO,  Chad

 I agreewith Chad, plus a lot easier to get your weight where you want it.  Maybe fifteen years ago a builder in, I think, Indiana, built cages that looked like those in a top fueler.  Strong as all get out but the tech guys outlawed them pretty quickly.  
 Some tracks still call for perimeter cages so be careful Steve.
