FIRST 100 FANS FREE AT PERRIS AUTO SPEEDWAY SATURDAY(Perris, CA, May 21, 2011) This Saturday night, May 21st, will be PASSCAR Fan Appreciation Night at Perris Auto Speedway. The first 100 fans through the spectator gates will be admitted free due to the generosity of the PASSCAR drivers and teams. Saturday's racing will feature the Oil Twins Amsoil Street Stocks, Super Stocks, Modifieds, Pick-A-Part American Factory Stocks and the CDCRA Dwarf Cars. Spectator gates will open at 5:00 PM and the first race will be at 5:30. After the first 100 fans are admitted free, tickets will only be $9.00 for adults. Active military members with proper id, teens 13-18 with their school id and kids 6-12 will all get in for just $5.00. Children under 5 will be admitted free.
"The teams came to me and wanted to do something for the fans," promoter Don Kazarian said. "They decided to pay for the first 100 fans through the gate. That is very generous on their part and a nice gesture. I have never heard of this happening before in racing. It is very cool."
The main guy to watch on Saturday will be three-time PAS champion Alan Updyke of Tustin who has won the first two PASSCAR Modified races of 2011. Alan Grubel of Yucaipa, who won the Street Stock main two weeks ago, Brian Pannone of Riverside who won in the Super Stocks and Keith Wood of Hemet who won in the Factory Stocks are all expected to be back in action on Saturday. The CDCRA Dwarf Cars, who race at a variety of tracks around the Southland, will be making their first PAS appearance of 2011.
The most interesting battle in the point standings at the present time is positions two through four in the Street Stock Class. All three of those spots are occupied by the racing Everhart family out of Perris. Mom Ronnie is second in the championship standing while her husband Jake is third and their 17-year-old son Dalton is fourth. Points four all four divisions can be found below.
K&N Filters will donate gift certificates of $100.00, $50.00 and $25.00 to the top three finishers in each main event. The driver who passes the most cars on the Street Stock main will get a $50.00 Oil Twins Dominator gift certificate and the car that passes the most in the Factory Stock main will get a $25.00 Oil Twins Dominator gift certificate. Each of those drivers will get an automatic entry into the Oil Twins Challenge on October 29th.
If the Street Stocks, Super Stocks or Modifieds have fields of 24 cars, the main event winner of the class (s) will take home $1,000.00. All purses are posted on the Perris Auto Speedway web site.
Saturday's door handle to door handle night of racing will include heat races and main events for all four classes.
