Race of Champions - Dash for Cash
We will start 22 Modifieds for the 1st Annual Pat Pettit Shoot-out 50 A-Main Event
(if less than 22 cars check in, we will start all cars in the A-Main event).
More than 22 cars we will have a B-Main event to determine additional starting spots. .
Entry fee ~ The entry fee for Car and Driver is $103
Qualifying ~ All Modified drivers will draw a pill for qualifying position. Your qualifying position will determine your starting spot in the Heat Race. With a four car inversion, which mean if you are #1 qualifier you will start 4th place in Heat #2; #2 qualifier will start 4th in Heat race # 2; #3 qualifier will start 4th in Heat race #3, etc.
Heat Races ~ We will transfer the top 4 or 5 finishers from each heat race to the A-Main event (number of heat races will be determined the night of the race), with those finishers getting their qualifying time to determine their starting position. The remaining non transfers will race the B-Main(s) (multiple if needed) for final transfer spots. If no B-Main, we will still transfer 4 cars from the heat race finishers to the A- Main, which will be determined by their qualifying time.
B – Main ~ We will take Top 10 or 12 finishers to A-Main from the B-Main, and they will start straight up according to how the finished the B-Main, behind the heat race qualifiers. .
A-Main payout ~ $3003 to Winner; $1,403 for Second; $1,203 for Third, & $1,003 for Fourth and paying at least $503 to start the A-Main. Based on 22 cars
Transponders and Racecievers ~ Are mandatory. The track has some rentals but that does not guarantee that one would be available.
Provision Starter ~ The Promoter will be given a provisional starting spot for the night’s race
Race of Champions -Dash for Cash ~ Any past Champion (in a Modified or higher division) at any track and is going to participate in the nights events, is invited to race the Race of Champions race. Additionally, Ocean Speedway will pay your entry fee for the evening’s events. If you are interested in racing this event, please submit your entry to samantha@oceanpspeedway.com. Once information has been verified you will be notified of your entry. We will have a Dash for Cash; starting positions will be determined by random draw. Laps will be determined the night of the race. Purse will be $1003 (1st $403, 2nd $303, 3rd $203 and 4th $103) The Dash winner will also draw the night inversion for the starting line-up for the A- Main (0, 4, 6, and 8)
Participating teams ~ Please work with us to make this a great event. We know everyone has their own opinion of how things should be done. Unfortunately we can never make everyone happy. So please keep that in mind. Minor adjustment may be made to this as deemed necessary by the track.
