I have been going back and forth for a while wondering how often everyone replaces their safety equipment?  Like helmet, suit, etc... gloves and shoes I typically wear out in a season or so or they get to the point that they aren't comfortable... But I have always wondered how long everyone goes on helmets or firesuits.  I recently just got a new fire suit cause the other one was getting kinda ratty after 6 years, so I figured that was a good time to go ahead and get a new one.  Other then that how long do you guys generally go?

  I replace helmets after one good whack or about 4 years otherwise.
  Suits when they start getting worn, torn or the seat gets dirty... from the inside.  Did have to replace a suit after one night when the ex washed it, then threw it in the dryer....went from an XL to about a M and made a soprano out of me when I tried to get in it.
