USAC Western Midget Series

TULARE’S JUNE 22ND USAC WESTERN MIDGET POINT RACE IS CANCELLED

SANTA MARIA, CA – MAY 29, 2013… Officials with the USAC Western Midget Series and Tulare’s Thunderbowl Raceway have announced that the June 22nd race has been cancelled. Also featuring the winged Rebel Cup 360 Sprints, IMCA Modifieds, and IMCA Super Stocks, a makeup date has not been issued.

This Saturday, June 1st, the “mighty midgets” will travel to Placerville Speedway for an “open wheel shootout” with BCRA. In addition, the popular winged California Sprint Car Civil War Series will join the action packed card. The event will mark the return of the USAC Midgets to the El Dorado County Fairgrounds. In their only appearance, “The Professor” Jimmy Sills claimed victory on October 11, 1996. The Front Gates will open at 5:00pm, Time Trials at 6:30pm, and Racing is set to begin at 7:00pm.

Fresh off his second win of the campaign, Norco’s Ronnie Gardner leads the point standings. Among the other drivers expected to be in action are Jake Swanson, David Prickett, Cody Swanson, Frankie Guerrini, Kody Swanson, Scott Pierovich, Shannon McQueen, Trey Marcham, Randi Pankratz, Terry Nichols, Tanner Swanson, Richard Vander Weerd, Jace Vander Weerd, Nick Chivello, Sean Dodenhoff, Matt Streeter, Floyd Alvis, Gary Conterno, Taylor Simas, and more.

Placerville Speedway is located on the El Dorado County Fairgrounds in Placerville, California at 100 Placerville Drive. Adult Tickets are $16, Senior Tickets are $14, Junior Tickets are $12, and Children Tickets are $6.
