Computer/TV Question
08/03/13 at 7:09am

Since I am a mental midget when it comes to the latest technologies, gotta question. I watch on the computer Friday nights the live qualifying shows on ESPN3 of the NHRA National events.

Is there the technology to hook some wires or whatever to go from the computer to the TV so I can get me some nitro on the big screen instead of the 22" Dell Monitor I watch?? My TV is about 20 feet from the computer. Thanks in advance for any answers.

Very good OS-6, I am sure there are a lot of folks that would love to see the fast attack hydroplane in action.  But no turtle hunting, might get you arrested.  All would love to see pictures of your red clay racing also...!!!!

I think most newer TV's have the ports already. Just get the wires.

Also...you can go on Youtube and they SHOW you how to do it. For real.

LMM - if your TV and Computer have HDMI ports - you would just need a HDMI Cable (we got ours online pretty cheap - it's a 15 footer)

Our 46 in. tv we have the cable plugged in to the 2nd port - it's called HDMI 2 on the screen settings.

On the computer, RIGHT CLICK on your desktop so you see a menu like

VIEW
SORT BY
REFRESH

PASTE
PASTE SHORTCUT
UNDO MOVE

and a few lines below that you should see

SCREEN RESOLUTION

(You must have the TV turned ON - and set to your HDMI setting channel)

When you click the Screen Resolution the third setting down - should say something like

ORIENTATION

Click that - and you SHOULD have the option to "EXTEND THIS DISPLAY"

that will bring up your TV like a 2nd computer monitor and still allow you to use your computer while streaming stuff to the TV

*hope that's not TOO confusing!  LOL    Grin

If it's a newer TV and computer, you may be able to do it wireless, with bluetooth. I've never done it, but I'm pretty sure the technology exists, you just need to know how to access the bluetooth on both devices..... I think. lol.
