High Corporate Tax Rates?

For those of you who still think American corporations pay the highest tax rates:

According to Standards and Poor these US companies paid an effective tax rate of ZERO % due to off-shoring, tax loss deferments to take a losing year and apply it to profitable ones, and a whole host of tax dodges that have been put into the tax code by bought-and-paid-for-elected-officials.

The companies and their value: (in billions with a B)

Verizon: $146.4

MetLife: $53.9

Eaton: $32.7

Regeneron Pharmaceuticals: $29.6

Public Storage: $29.5

Ventas: $19.3

Avalonbay Communities: $17.4

Agilent Technologies: $16.9

Vornado Realty Trust: $16.8

Boston Properites: $16.7

Seagate Technology: $15.9

Broadcom: $15.7

News Corp.: $9.8

Lam Research: $8.8

Kimco Realty: $8.6

Waters: $8.5

Macerich: $8.3

Plum Creek Timber: $8.4

PulteGroup: $6.4

Apartment Investment & Management: $4.3

Perkin Elmer: $4.2

add to that BofA and CitiBank.

Nice try. Those are all billion dollar a year corps. The VAST majority of corporations are in the low millions to thousands, who DO pay the high corporate tax rates. Oh yea...................they also employ the vast majority of workers in America.

Just admit it Dave.....you lean left. In fact, you're close to falling over, buddy. Grin

What party are you referring to?  I know a lot of conservatives that believe that billion dollar corporations should pay taxes on their profits. So you guys don't.  That's cool.

And the workers you talk about sure have to pay their taxes. And at a higher rate then the CEO.

But neither of you has disputed my point that corporations do not pay the highest tax rates in the world, as so many claim.

Sorry... had to get the lounge going again. Seems the lounge has kinda died without some probing questions. lol

lmao!

YOUR controlling party...lol

my corp does pay the highest taxes in this country.....and for a dinner at the crab I will photocopy the checks and show them to you.

just for the record....if they are playing within the rules...then change the rules...a FLAT tax would be what I would support.
