I'll sell you an all cast iron 2850cc esslinger motor for 5,500. It makes approx. 275hp. Or I can get you a 2600cc dry sump esslinger motor complete for 3,500.It makes approx. 285hp.

We are looking for OEM. If you can prove that ford used that instead of the 2.3 in their production vehicles than I would buy one right now. Actually I probably wouldn't because I'm a Chevy guy. But I understand that if your not strict on the tech, people will gravitate to the Esslinger or KRP because they know that they can get away with it. We still want to keep it on the cheaper side, some what, but not mini stock cheap. We want these drivers to take pride in their racecars and if you put in the time, effort, and finances, they tend to take care of it better. Our cars will not be destruction derby cars. I know that rubbin is racin and wrecks happen, but these guys want to stay competitive and have fun.

They don't seem to realize you'll never legislate money out of racing. Them what gots, gits and them that don't, don't.  Its a racing reality...  Ya'll need to just get a sport mod and go racing...why try to re-invent the wheel?

How are you planning on keeping someone from putting chevy rods and a big valve  big cam motor together? And both of my Esslinger motors are in OEM blocks and heads. Just saying.

they did this 4cyl thing with the pavement late models yrs ago, they were fast with the esslinger race motors. but the class soon died out.  I really cant justify building a full modified and stuffing a little motor in it.  In utah they started something similiar like this with the mods but there limited to a 305 v8 motor.  I like the idea for people to just go to sportmods.  You might wanna check out the pro 4 mini mod class they have in pahrump speedway.  what they are are mini stocks that have the appearance of a modified and or a late model.  but then again....that class is down to a few cars per week as well. good luck!

There's a difference between going fast in a safe race car and going fast in an unsafe race car. Just slow them down or at least make them look safer.

The only thing I see good about this class is for kids. 11yr-14yr olds. For that age group it's perfect if they plan on running mods or/and latemodels some day. The cars would handle and drive close to the same as a modified or latemodel. They would learn at a young age how to drive, feel what the car is doing and make adjustments to the chasiss, so when they move up to a modified or latemodel at 15+ yrs old they understand what the car is doing. Kinda like mini sprints, it prepares u for a sprint car. In the mid west they run mini latemodels, looks like a full blown latemodel just scaled down.

This entire post is about a new class because the mini's in Hanford are going too fast. Have you seen the mini's in Hanford? You need a tetanus shot to get around some of them, not to mention every time I've been there they have a red flag because one flipped over the burm or two of them collided and partially went through the front stretch fence. If the cars were made more safe, speed would not be such a problem in this entry class.

So please, former crew guy, enlighten all of us on your expertise.
