2015 SLATE FOR 70TH SEASON OF BAKERSFIELD SPEEDWAY REVEALED

BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA (December 25, 2014) - Promoter Scott Schweitzer has unveiled an ambitious 70th schedule for the historic Bakersfield Speedway, which will see the west's fastest one-third mile clay oval host nearly 40 events.  IMCA Racing will return for the 25th consecutive year with both Modifieds and Sport Modifieds as the headline divisions.

Championship racing will also continue for Street Stocks, American Stocks, Hobby Stocks, Mini Stocks, Mod Lites, and Jr. and Sr. Mini Dwarfs.  The season begins with the prestigious West Coast Late Model Shootout on March 7.  That series returns again during Labor Day weekend September 5.  All told, the Late Model calendar will again be a once-monthly affair.

The speedway has partnered with Kings Speedway in Hanford for six nights of "Win-Place-Show" bonus.  Drivers in Modifieds and Sport Mods who compete on the weekends of April 25, May 9, May 30, June 27, July 25, August 15, and September 19 will be eligible for bonus prizes for running Friday at Hanford and Saturday at Bakersfield.

Open wheel racing will come back to the speedway in a big way as well with the addition of the economy-minded Western Racesaver Winged Sprints on three occasions.  USAC Western Midgets and USAC HPD Midgets bookend their California seasons with events on March 21st and September 19th.  NMRA Midgets, CDCRA Dwarf Cars, and Hard Tops also make appearances throughout the season.

One of the largest dirt stock car shows west of Boone, IA, the 30th Budweiser Nationals returns on October 9th and 10th.  After a huge debut event in 2014, Bakersfield Speedway is excited to confirm the second annual Thanksgiving Thunder for Friday November 27th and Saturday November 28th as well.

"In 2015 we have stepped up our open wheel events with the addition of the newly formed Race Saver Winged Sprint Cars. There's a lot of excitement with the new class and we looking forward to helping them grow."
