Another post with a few thoughts, rather than my long winded approach...
Sport Mods will get a point shakeup. "Fast" Freddie Ryland has been fast at Merced, but he has a decision to make after last week's win. Antioch or Merced? He's the point leader at Merced, but he's in the hunt at his home track at Antioch too. Keith Brown Jr. has a similar decision to make. This would leave it up to Hensley to give Diaz the challenge for the championship.
Hobby Stocks Kevin Joaquin has been fast so far his year. Ty Shelton is under the radar, but with three Top 3 finishers so far this year, keep an eye on him. Rodgers has an interesting car. That yellow #50 car ran second in the main for several laps after his heat win. The car count will get better, I think, but the cars they have seem pretty closely matched.
Four Bangers Darren Miguel was in another time zone last week. He was fast and he showed that his Chowchilla win a few weeks ago was no fluke. Defending champion Chris Corder may have some competition from Miguel and that Lockerby fellow, who is a past Mini Truck champion. Almost hate to see this division off this week as the car count is up, but giving them breaks should help keep it up too.
Limited Late Models Not gonna last long if the guys don't get on board. Hope to see more cars this week. Mark Garner is faster than ever this year. He won the week before at Antioch too. Respect to Peggy Sue Jarred for coming from Antioch and making her laps and Buddy Thatcher, who is one of the top drivers in this class. Hope Scott Van Gender's mechanical issues weren't too serious. Bring them cars out guys.
Sportsman I love this class. Always have, always will. Need more cars to show. I hear there will other cars this week, so we shall see.
IMCA Modifieds are back this week. Hoping to see at least one Stone in the field for this one. Love that Bob Williamson is still out there. Good guy. Bill Egleston, Alex Wilson, John MacDougall... We'll see who shows, but should be a good show.
