Thank you.
I would like to correct one word first sentence, scratch "trying"; add "doing". We have grown already since last season, but we all haven't shown up at once. The second largest percentage of the class is out of my shop and I am working on a budget getting both cars out with new motors. I know of 4 new cars that haven't shown this season, but they are coming.
The question of whether it will take is answered. It's a matter of how fast the other tracks will take the class. This class is not a replacement for any class. The supers are a good side show that can be booked thru out the season. Hobbies are a base show for most tracks and promoters need a consistent back gate. Cocopah (Yuma) is the only track out west that gave 2 seasons notice to change their Hobbies to IMCA ( answer for your blog) ( yes I read it thanks) and their Supers to the IMCA Stock Cars. Now they are IMCA and thus the invitation. We will continue to bind the two tracks together.
One goal this season is a road trip to a track up north. We have discussions going with Fernely.
Chow was run last season for 4 races. I have the utmost respect for Jack and his intentions. But the track is a sand pit and I cant afford 8 tires to race Chow. Sunday day was tough for me and Sunday nite I cant do. Other reasons for the other guys and it was a piss poor turnout.I more than anyone wanted to get Chow running our class, but.
Antioch / Merced and Chow would benefit from a solid , consistent rule package. But the promoter has to get along with IMCA.
I knew of the class but never looked at the details. The deal breaker with the supers was the rule changes every year, it just priced me out. Now I can afford two cars (slowly).
Quote me here and now the IMCA Stock Cars car count will double and the schedule will double next season. X Dave Bauer X
