Papenhausen, Wilson Antioch Speedway Feature Winners
06/14/15 at 5:31pm

Richard Papenhausen came from last starting to win his fourth 20 lap Late Model Main Event of the season at Antioch Speedway Saturday night.  Papenhausen started back in the fourth row and chased down leader and rival Jeff Decker for the victory.  As Papenhausen collected the victory, Decker settled for second ahead of Chester Kniss, in his best finish yet. David Newquist was fourth ahead of Limited Late Model point leader Larry Damitz,  Danny Malfatti, Rod Arnold and Rob Norris.  Papenhauisen won his heat race ahead of Newquist to reclaim the point lead.  Damitz won the other heat ahead of Kniss.

Kyle Wilson has two IMCA Modified feature wins at Merced Speedway and has been knocking on the door to victory in recent visits to Antioch.  Saturday night, he finally grabbed the lead after battling with Shawn DeForest and Carl Berendsen II in the early goings.  DeForest spun from the lead and Berendsen made a pit stop and had to come back through the pack.  K. Wilson bested the 13 car field for the victory as Berendsen came back for a season best second.  Sixth row starter Nick Viscusi had his best ever Modified finish in third as Merced point leader Alex Wilson and Antioch point leader Scott Busby rounded out the Top 5.  Busby was challenging for the lead at one point before spinning in an incident that collected Bobby Hogge IV.  Bobby Motts Jr. finished sixth ahead of Chris Elby, Jim DiGiovanni, Brian Cass and Shawn DeForest.  DeForest won his heat race ahead of Elby, while K. Wilson won his heat in front of Kellen Chadwick.

Last week, 2010 Hobby Stock champion Chris Sorensen led for several laps before he let the 20 lap feature victory slip away from him.  This time, the front row starter would not be denied as he collected  a well earned victory.  Danny Jones grabbed his fourth second place finish of the season ahead of point leader and fifth row starter Kimo Oreta, Robert Niven and Chase Templeton.  Brent Curran was sixth ahead of Jordan Swank, Frank Furtado, Jessica Jones and Michael Cooper.  Making only his second start in Hobby Stocks, Brent Curran won his heat race ahead of Sorensen, while Cooper took advantage of a Niven mistake to win his first heat of the season.

Since debuting his new Dwarf Car five races ago, point leader David Teves has the fastest car in the division,  Teves and rival Danny Wagner shared the second row and made their way past heat winner Miranda Chappa and Mike Corsaro in the early goings of the race.  D. Teves would win the battle for his second 20 lap victory of the season. Wagner settled for second, followed by Adam Teves, Kevin Miraglio and Corsaro.  Miranda ended up sixth ahead of Josh Miller, Tim Reeder, Brian Gray and Kurtis Kraig.  Chappa won her heat race ahead of D. Teves, while A. Teves was a heat winner in front of Corsaro.

Racing returns to Antioch Speedway next Saturday night with a six division program consisting of DIRTcar Late Models, Winged 360 Sprint Cars, Wingless Spec Sprints, IMCA Sport Modifieds, Hobby Stocks and Dwarf Cars
