RED FARMER CLASSIC COMING TO TALLADEGA SHORT TRACK THIS WEEKEND

Eastaboga, AL (May 10, 2010) – Talladega Short Track officials are getting ready for one of the biggest events of the 2010 season, as the Inaugural “Red Farmer Classic” comes to the 1/3 mile clay oval this weekend, May 13th – May 15th.

The race will be highlighted by a 97 Lap Super Latemodel feature event paying $9,700 to win in honor of the legendary Alabama Gang Members car number.

The Sportsman and Crate divisions will be in action, and keeping up with the Red Farmer theme will pay $970 to win each feature event.

Also racing will be the IMCA Modifieds, Thundercars, Street Stocks and Hot Shots.

All kinds of activities are planned for the weekend, starting with a DJ and Food for all drivers following Qualifying Night activities on Friday Night.

Saturday Night will feature “Dinner with Red” from 4:30 – 5:00 on the backstretch at the Hambones BBQ Tent area, and then the pre-race ceremonies that are scheduled to begin at 5:30PM where we will honor the legend.

Action gets underway on Thursday Night with an open practice session in all divisions from 7pm-10pm.

Friday Night will feature Schaffer Oil Pole Qualifying plus heat races in all divisions. A full show for the Street Stocks and Hot Shots will also take place. Saturday Night will see consolation races if needed and the feature events.

This race should be good. Last nights practice had a dry and slick track for practice, might be dusty early then should seal over nice on Saturday.

Late Model Mark
